Fake, they don't use bullets in the future. Don't you know that copper and lead are too hard to come by so they use plasma? Using carbon nano tubes are made into micro batteries that fill the bullet to supply power to generate the plasma shell. This is common knowledge, cyber technology 101.
Haha the tripods as geiger counters (why not though) :D Also, might be a little easier to put the gas mask on before the helmet. :P Loving the calavera tattoo at 6:21 :)

I like. Similar concept to "The Second Renaissance part 1 & 2" from "The Animatrix (2003)" (short prequel animation to "The Matrix (1999)". Presenting the question what is freedom and who should have it? Gets the brain juices flowing which is always a good thing. *ThumbsUp*
I love cyberpunk and dystopian work! I was expecting some half-baked, shot through a camera-phone piece of crap, but this was honestly outstanding! Keep it up.
Unlike Ghost in the shell; Nehi Tsutomu's works BLAME! and Biomega are labeled as Cyberpunk. But guess what? They are set far in the future, and the concept is truly vague.
Of course, we love Futuristic cities. But we all got crappy skyscrapers instead of beautiful mega-complexes, along with intra-connected buildings. Do you not agree?
I sincerely laughed my ass off when the girl got rifle butted,. Not gonna lie, that was epicly hilarious.
Overall, the voice dubs were humorously corny, and while the general idea was cool and it played out alright, I think you could have expanded a lot more on the character and the world. It seems like you just tried to cut it together so it would fit in a 10 minute time frame. I hope since 2008 you learned by now to never sacrifice story for time frames, cuz you can clearly write well
even tho the geiger counter thing was clearly a tripod, and the effects when the girl gets shot the second time is pretty crappy (first time was pretty neat), i thoroughly enjoyed this and also the concept of having a cyberpunk class is just smashing

Nice twist ending, but the film fell into the "Blade-runner ripoff" schema. Loved the big-brother style loudspeaker at the beginning. The combat scenes were irritating and seemed to be inspired straight from metal gear solid 1, hows that for odd? after about 8:27 the green-garden gets old. Still, a well-shot film
I don't know, but they certainly don't look like the Duty faction stalkers in S.T.A.L.K.E.R, they're wearing helmets and bulletproof vests and the gasmasks do not actually carry any resemblance to those seen in the games. Plus the guards are equipped with some sort of M4 variant where as only few of the weapons in Stalker weren't Russian.
Speaking of weapons in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC, there are 32 basic (unmodified) models, including a knife and one Sci-Fi Gauss rifle.
Considering the knife as an eastern block weapon (it bears a writing in Russian), there are 16 eastern block weapons in the game, 15 western weapons, and one sci-fi weapon. Only as few as half of the weapons in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. aren't Russian/Ukrainian :P
Still, this short doesn't carry any resemblance to Stalker.
Then let's put it this way, other then the other Eastern european assault rifles in the game there are only three western assault rifles: Belgian FN F2000, German H&K G3 and American LR300.
And no, if you're European, Ukraine and the Eastern bloc are not "west".

why in the plot the guard hit the works just becouse. dosnt make sense the girl was not out of control or being lazy. for example i seen the jews work better if you shoot the one that is not doing anything they just get right to work again.
I quite liked watching that. The special effects were pretty cool. My only critisism though is the unconvincingness (if thats such a word?) in the combat scenes. I dont think you could knock out or kill somebody with a pro wrestling type snap mare though lol.
The plot doesent make sense to me. Why the hell would they make people slaves if they could just forcibly deport them? How could they get the public´s support? Who would they enslave? Why would the goverment hire people to hunt them down and kill them? It doesent make sense. Just to punish them? The point of punishment is rehabilitation into society.
Seems to me they dont need rehab. And how the hell do they identyfy them?!? And why is the slave a robo-cheerleader!?
slaves are not humans, so the society has no problem with them working there. u don't rehab a runaway slave, especially if they kill people, look at the history of American slavery, for instance
I think you need to use a little imagination when watching short films like this. There is no point trying to deconstruct art. Nice themes and imagery.
So so true... she's like a mix of Milla Jovovich's Ultraviolet and Holly Valance... It's rather tacky, innit? I mean, with less money you could have focused on themes... Too many uniforms and so few facts. Shame.
2. I thought she was going to take the gun and shoot him. Surprising to see she pull that. Felt like a cop-out
3.How does the government track down 'escaped slaves' given methods of presumably defeating those. Also surprised the space colonies didn't pulll some shit out of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress
4. Why didn't she take the repeater rifle when she left
There were few errors during the playback of the video itself but overall this is a piece of art. I love cyberpunk and steampunk culture and I'm personally writing a short cyberpunk related story that I hope to create into a short film in the future. Your work has inspired me to continue, and those last words I've heard them before... "Do Androids Dream"?
Recommendation: redo (or just delete) the text scroll and let the audience fill in the blanks. You're jocking Blade Runner too much and it detracts from your effort. There's a fine line between being "inspired by" and "ripping off" and you're a little too close to it. Good luck!
great film, my only complaint is instead of being inspired by "blade runner" it IS blade runner for the most part. Also, if you could manage to find realistic looking ak-47's why settle for a tripod to fill in as a gieger counter? But that last point is just me being nosey i guess. Was this for a film class?
We originally wanted to use shovels. Tripod was the last minute solution. For the people outside of film/photography world, it may look awkward and futuristic. True, 'Blade Runner' or more correctly its literary source, Philip K. Dick's novel "Why Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" was the main inspiration for our film. We also used elements of 'Equilibrium' and 'THX 1138', such as humans' suppression of emotions. The inspiration for the sun sequence also came from 'THX 1138'.
There was an idea in Dick's book that wasn't explored enough in Blade Runner. By hunting and killing androids who were almost indistinguishable from humans, human hunters became more dehumanized, and by running, surviving and dreaming of freedom, androids were becoming more human, in a sense. We wanted to take that idea further and it became central to our film. Hence, revelation of slaves being androids becomes the twist of the story.
Pretty creative, actually. Good job. I guess some people expect you to have the budget of FOX media? lol

Its just a story put in Blade Runners reality. You may be good director, but this is getting you nowhere. Try be more creative.

your vid's the second search result for 'cyberpunk' and 'android'. you remember what writer the android we were shown in class was based on

Recommendation: redo (or just delete) the text scroll and let the audience fill in the blanks. You're jocking Blade Runner too much and it detracts from your effort. There's a fine line between being "inspired by" and "ripping off" and you're a little too close to it. Good luck!

no-keep subtitles. It's hard to make out what they're saying.

great film, my only complaint is instead of being inspired by "blade runner" it IS blade runner for the most part.
