Well, no one is prouder than me to have my cousin, Phylicia Rashad, whom I grew up with, sing with the incomparable Nancy Wilson (and keep up, mind you).

No one but a few know that Clair Huxtable "was" Phylicia Rashad, as she really is.

And when we were climbing trees as kids, she was the one on the highest branch...fearless.

Man I miss this. The Cosby Show was a master at incorporating great music into the show. I still get goosebumps when I see this episode. Nancy Wilson and Phylicia Rashad joining Bill Cosby and Moses Gunn in singing "Moody's Mood For Love". Priceless!

I remember seeing Nancy on TV variety shows in the 60's when I was maybe five years old. I completely forgot about her, and didn't even recognize her when I first saw this episode of Cosby more than twenty years later. She put instant chills on me then and still can now. Gladys Knight is the only other female singer that stops me in my tracks like that.

I just bought a James Moody cd with all the instrumental songs that later the lyrics were written for. 'James Moody 49 & 50. This great musician is also a part of that iconic group of Jazz musicians; Dizzy, Bird, Monk Miles etc.
