  • might be a tad extreme but this is my favorite part of any Cosby Show ever. I <3 Nancy Wilson and Phylicia Rashad, but mostly I love the slow dancing.

  • Man I get weak in the knees the time Nancy Wilson starts singing

  • Wow the way Nancy sings, 'Anything baby just let me get next to yewew"... (wow the way she says you'.. is so dang sensuous! That woman has a way with phrasing that is unmatched. just wow.

  • I don't know what y'all are talking about but Cliff sang this beautifully.

  • The only thing I hate about this part is that it ends so quickly. I wish Nancy and Phylica would have recorded this song.

  • @ryhanbradyjohnblack19: It's "Moody's Mood for Love" by King Pleasure, 1952.

  • lucky guys

  • Nancy Wilson is such a class act, and she's such a lady.

  • One of my absolute favorite Cosby Show episodes! I still have almost all of the seasons on VHS from when I used to tape them every week. This one is classic! Gotta love Nancy Wilson. I had a hankering for this version and knew that I would be able to find it on youtube! Thanks!

  • @jrushing37 THIS EPISODE AND THE ONE WITH MISS LENA HORNE ARE MY FAVORITES.

  • What is the episode when Olivia says You got the right one baby?

  • what song were they singing?

  • @ryanbradyjohnblack19 Moody's Mood for Love.

  • I think this is my favorite version of this song just because of Nancy Wilson

  • wow...love Nancy Wilson and I miss Dr. Cosby's show. One of the best TV shows this era.

  • I was just watching this on TV like 10mins ago, and I finally found out who this song was made by after so long of not knowing, but now I do because the show; Thanks Mr. Cosby!! :)

  • Well, no one is prouder than me to have my cousin, Phylicia Rashad, whom I grew up with, sing with the incomparable Nancy Wilson (and keep up, mind you).

No one but a few know that Clair Huxtable "was" Phylicia Rashad, as she really is.

And when we were climbing trees as kids, she was the one on the highest branch...fearless.

  • My dad played Nancy Wilson all the time. But this was the moment that "i got it."

  • Nancy should really do a cover of this, if she hasn't already. If she has, somebody please post it or tell me the name of the album.

  • Whatever happened to show like this? Why can't just laugh without having raunchy jokes? I grew up watching this, and I wish someone could make a show in it's spirit.

  • Man I miss this. The Cosby Show was a master at incorporating great music into the show. I still get goosebumps when I see this episode. Nancy Wilson and Phylicia Rashad joining Bill Cosby and Moses Gunn in singing "Moody's Mood For Love". Priceless!

  • Gosh I always loved this.

  • I remember seeing Nancy on TV variety shows in the 60's when I was maybe five years old. I completely forgot about her, and didn't even recognize her when I first saw this episode of Cosby more than twenty years later. She put instant chills on me then and still can now. Gladys Knight is the only other female singer that stops me in my tracks like that.

  • James Moody, Eddie Jefferson and King Pleasure all got it started, and it's AWESOME that their efforts are still appreciated and celebrated by today's contemporary artists. Take 6 with Brian McKnight and Patti Austin, George Benson and Patti Austin, Amy Winehouse, Elliot Amin and several other talented folks on YouTube have kept the classic alive. Thanks to you all!!!

  • first time i was introduced to Nancy Wilson have been a fan ever since

  • You better sing Nancy!!!

  • I love this!

  • RIP James Moody

  • LOL I couldn't remember the version of the song so I searched for this episode. INCREDIBLE Thank God for both classics.

  • i got choked up watching this. I'm watching the Cosby Show roght now. we will never have anything like this again so enjoy it.

  • I have that Moody's Mood LP. This is such a fantastic clip. Nancy Wilson and Phylicia Rashad .. two beautiful and classy ladies. I tell you, that Bill Cosby really knows his music. He had all the good stuff.

  • when i grow up, i wanna be like the huxtables :)

  • beautiful. very classy. i loveee the cosby show. good wholesome music. :)

  • I just bought a James Moody cd with all the instrumental songs that later the lyrics were written for. 'James Moody 49 & 50. This great musician is also a part of that iconic group of Jazz musicians; Dizzy, Bird, Monk Miles etc.

  • THEY BETTER SING THAT (NANCY WILSON & PHILICIA RASHAD) I WISHED THEY COULD SING TO & FOR ME;)

  • Thank you a million times over for posting this clip! I love this song, I loved this episode! You are the best!

  • I Love this eposide of The Cosby Show...... I would do anything to Meet Phylica Rashad. i been crazy bout that lady since 4th grade i'm currently a sophmore in college. She is really my rolemodel. I love U phylica

  • Than you for posting this. Was first time hearing the song for me too.

  • I searched record stories for that recording after watching this episode. Love it!

  • i love this ep. and this song

  • Just. Wonderful.

  • The first time I heard this song was on this episode. I fell in love with it and this song is still one of my favorites. Nobody sings it like Ms. Nancy though :-)

  • Oh Nancy made me speechless her voice is incredible!

  • Seriously, it sent chills down my spine when she came in. Her and Phylicia should duet!

  • My heart is just so warm right now. That was exquisite!

  • Timeless

  • Thanks for the save, Miss Nancy!

  • Nancy Wilson! No one should be allowed to have the combination of beauty, class and talent that this legend has!

    The lady is incredible!

  • absolutely. she is the epitome of style and grace. i adore her.

  • @realfredwithtires Amen you aint never lie lol

  • i wish i can be in that eposoide just to be with nancy

  • I love the way Nancy Wilson sings.. She has such a beautiful voice.......So does Phylicia Rashad.

  • nancy wilson is a real entertainer from the old school. I saw her live at copley center in san diego. seeing her sing guess who I saw today was something I will never forget. thanks nancy..

  • i wish she would have recorded this on an album. I would buy the whole album just for this song. I love Nancy Wilson singing this song

  • omfg i got shivers like fa real strait up shivers wen i heard her sing at 1:00 ugh!!!!! nastyness!!!

  • This is one of my FAVORITE long songs. Nancy does it VERY well and I also enjoyed the remake by Brian McKnight with Take 6 on Quincy Jone's Juke Joint CD.

  • So do I .. The remake is so pretty ....

  • This episode is on my DVR, just so I can watch this scene whenever I want.

  • There I go, There I go, There I goooooo.

    I love this episode.

  • Nancy Wilson is one of the most truly gifted and graceful women on this Earth. To have both she and Phylicia together in one episode was wonderful. Such elegance! If you don't know her work, you'd better get some Nancy Wilson in your repertiore...and soon!

  • I wonder why Phyllisha Rashad never pursued singing, she has a good voice.

  • She is a classic trained stage actress. That is her roots. Most of them can sing, act and dance.

  • Phylicia was an understudy in the original run of Dreamgirls, she's led the cast of Sondheim's 'Into the Woods' on Broadway, she recorded an album many many years ago, and she's occasionally sung on TV. Her voice has not gone to waste.

  • I figured.

  • Nancy Wilson. Is she a famous singer?

  • Ummm, Gerald....time to recognize

Nancy is amazing and flawless!!! I saw her once at a popular/dearly-departed jazz spot in Fort Worth back in 1998. That performance will stay with me the rest of my days.

  • Yo', I kno' she is flawless. I can tell by da way she snapped in dis episode.

  • BEAUTIFUL...this was on last night and ironically I turnd to it on Nick just as Cliff started to sing.

  • I wish the Cosby show could have stayed on forever. They could have based the show around the grandchildren! LOL

  • There I go, there I go, there I go, loving Nancy Wilson. Shes's awesome.

  • My Favorite!

  • she can sing

  • i was fortunate enough to see Nancy Wilson at a concert called the Taste of DC with my mom in 1998

  • Lord, I can FINALLY delete this episode from my DVR, where I kept it for years so I could watch this scene whenever I wanted. Is this isn't a "Cosby Moment," I don't know what is...and one of my all-time favorite TV memories. So charming and romantic to see adult couples together like that...and these four together singing "Moody's Mood," with Miss Wilson blowin the roof off the joint?? Oh, forget it. You better SING, Nancy!!!!!

  • GOD this was good!!!!

  • I ♥ Nancy Wilson! She is one of my favorite female jazz vocalists. And I love the Brian McKnight rendition of this song...he should so do a full jazz album.

  • I have search all over youtube for this! Bless You! Wow Nancy and Phylicia killed it!

  • Moody's Mood For Love, you gotta love that tune
