@kingxskippy yeah.. even though theres people that appreciate it for what it is, ultimately if it's aired on the radio too heavily, it's the more mainstream sounding songs that will allways sell. the easiest market is allways the mainstream crowd and record company's will notice the success ratio of mainstream to more i guess..alternative sounding songs and start asking the band to make more of it.

1) Lars is in a Punk Gang called "Skunx"

2) His voice is original. No where near Tim's. It's rough and punk sounding, not like Tim's I'd say.

3) He isn't trying to take the lead in Rancid. If you see them in concert you can tell the difference.

4) Doing Op Ivy songs was Tim's idea. Tim forgets lyrics often during concerts, thus Lars has to pick up slack as Freeman is backing vocals, he can't lead at all.

5) This isn't even a LFatB original song.

A few reasons. Firstly I hate his voice. It sounds like a bad immitation of Tim/Jesse. Secondly he seems like a dumb thug. Ive read an interview with him where he's talking about how he was in a punk gang and all that crap. Third, it always seems like he's trying to front rancid instead of tim. I was downright offended when they covered some opivy songs live and his ass was singing them. Either get jesse, or have tim do em. Or maybe Jeff ott from crimpshrine (due to his voice similarities).
