I don't know what it is about the way she talks, BUT IT DRIVES ME NUTS. I always change the channel. Better than throwing something through the screen.
Does this product actually work?- my dad has chronic dry eyes and told me to look into this for him. Has anyone ACTUALLY used this product- rather than bashing it down with irrelevant comments??
@EHManjo I've prescribed Restasis for patients as part of our dry eye treatment protocol, and my clinical experience is that Restasis can be a miracle for those patients for whom it works, but unfortunately that outcome is not guaranteed for EVERY patient. In other words, it works well for those who it works, but not every patient finds it helpful or worth it. The problem is the results are NOT immediate, so it can take months for the patient to note any benefit. There are no "magic bullets".
@AdamSlowHandSmith Does it provide help to surgery-induced dry eyes? I feel if a nerve or something impt is severed inducing real tears may be impossible..
You KNOW this is an eye commercial - I mean look how wide and open her eyes are. Trying to sell something. She looks like a demon or something! SO weird and unnatural. "YOU use Restasis?????" You mean you can't tell? You don't notice that the doctor can't even blink? I mean she must be on SOMETHING! Dumbass woman....
@AdamSlowHandSmith at the beginning, the patient seems to pull the unnamed eyedrops out of her purse and show them to dr tendler, so maybe that counts as the dr knowing which eyedrops the patient uses, though doesn't answer the frequency question
Don't care if she's an ethical M.D. or not, she's insanely hot. And her voice is the icing on the cake. She's wearing way too much makeup and stuff in this ad, but damn...those eyes are irresistible!
Now I sound like a stalker or something, I swear I'm merely buzzed and bored :-/
if she uses this twice a day every day, and if you use it like that "You may need to use those other eye drops less", then why won't you eventually be able to wean yourself off of RESTASIS? The hogwash that the eye will start producing more of it's own natural tears would then mean Restasis did it's job and won't need to be taken again. Not this BS of take it 2x a day for the rest of your life crap.
@dell4bq Restasis is not a cure for dry eye; no one says it was. See the other videos I've posted, where I discuss the point about how the need for continued (although reduced) use of drops doesn't make much sense for some patients.
@AdamSlowHandSmith If it's not a cure at all then it is just a money making scheme. Get some Visine and call it a day. I'd be impressed if it were a cure making it to where you need eye drops NEVER again not this twice a day EVERY day FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. That to me is the enslaving of people to the pharmaceutical industry. Just like the crock Lipitor or cholesterol lowering drugs. Do some exercise and eat healthy with plenty of Omega 3 Acids and you're golden.
@dell4bq im not a Dr .but i do know a thing about dry eyes. regular visine is pure crap.like most products out there.nothing should be used long term.wouldnt give visine to my Dog.but there are great products out there..sysane is good. i cant produce tears in 1 eye.its hell when you have bad eyes.but visine isnt the cure
I hate the one commercial (I can't find it on youtube) where she is going on about the side effects, but she is looking in wonderment into her pateints eyes. I mean come on who the hell does this, especially not a Dr. I know it;s just a commercial but they need to post that disclaimer, this actor is NOT a real Dr.
@dell4bq If you had checked out other videos on this topic (or read the other comments), you'd know that she IS a real doctor (Alison Tendler, MD) who practices in S. Dakota, I think.
The scam is that the phony Dr. says, "I use Restasis twice a day every day." If it really WORKED, then it would get to the point where after a month you wouldn't NEED Restasis anymore as it would CURE the problem.
@etalfrance I still say she is a phony Dr. If she was real then it would just go to show she isn;t treating the illness she is just pimping the pharmaceutical companies drugs.
I have to laugh at the other Restasis commercial where a patient sort of acts tough with a demanding look of concern, but asks a dumb question. Seems odd you would have some demanding question but look like a fool because any idiot could answer that question, and her own research could have answered that common sense question of, "Why would Restasis be right for me?" Any idiot that asks a question that stupid is EXACTLY the kind of patient Dr's want as they are gullible fools.
My wife...Sonia Ashley of Cincinnati Ohio was killed by t hese dangerous and unknow drugs prescribed by her doctors...Porzac, Zoloft, Wellbutrin, Effexor,,,please write our govt officials and sign petitions against the use of these drugs !!!
iYes she is beautiful...but damn she is married....Doh !! The sad thing is that ...she...being a real doctor....promotes the use and sale of unsafe drugs....unproven drugs.....dangerous drugs all of which doctors know little or nothing about and people are dying from these drugs. My wife just passed away as a result of several years of taking Prozak, Zoloft, Wellbutrin and Effexor which killed her...causing multiple suicide attempts and cardiac arrest.....arrest them all !!
@wka656 its not the pharma companies fault it was the doctors for giving her all those drugs. That seems like way to excessive and mixing those could be deadly. I'm sorry for your loss.
I just had to see what everyone would say about this ad. Wow. Some of you need to get a grip. There are real problems in this world and you're getting PO'd about a drug ad. Tsk Tsk.
Wanna know why you tube is beautiful? You can look up Super creepy robot women commercials like this one and get at least 4 hysterically funny comments. You people are the true comedians :)
I still don't belive she is a real doctor. First of all, her eyes are too beautifully blue, but the dead give away is because you can read her perscription. Ever meet a doctor, any doctor who can write so you can read it?
Nice man chiin lady!! Bug eyed doctor prescribing addictive and harmful Restasis!! When it comes to LASIK and Ophthalmologists, there is NO STANDARD of care...this proves it!!
I wanna do that doctor for some reason :D While she is saying "Ristasis" with that look, while the other one watches and makes her look that she makes. :D
haha the fastest diagnosis of all time goes to this doctor! 11 seconds to be exact. And I love how she writes the Rx right away without even discussing other factors that can cause dry eyes.
"How Long have you been taking them?" "For quite some time". What the hell does that mean? A few days could be quite some time. A week could be.
And lastly, is it me or does she look like a robot??
@snowbrdr200 Yes, "For quite some time" makes me laugh, too. And the doctor is okay with something as vague as that. Some people will say we're over-analyzing a commercial but the bloody thing is about a real medication.
On another note, who is the patient in real life? I love her voice. Sophisticated, sexy in a perfectly natural way.
Just another dangerous designer drug with side effects worse than the cure. I wouldn't waste my time or money with this crap. High profits over public safety. Way to go drug companies.
The story of how Restasis ended up as a eye drop is interesting. Pts who received organ transplants were taking oral cyclosporine to prevent organ rejection, but those with dry eyes noticed they weren't AS dry. It's called an 'immuno-modulator' i.e. much like steroids to strongly inhibit the immune system, but localized in drop form to calm immune function of the eye.
No wonder Restasis has been around for years, but ad STILL says no studies on use w/ viral infections completed to date. Hmm?
Great analysis of the video. Many doctors are actually like this, but make their patients feel like they shouldnt question since they are a "doctor". I actually love these doctors because I dont let them push me around even if they are in a hurry. No one else should either.
I personally do not like female doctors, and she does not appeal to me at all. My opinion only.
She looks like something from the original Stepford wife movie, except if she was a Stepford wife, she would of had to do her roots(or she would of been deprogrammed!)! LOL
Seems Allergan updated the ad for 2010, perhaps using footage and sequences they recorded at the same time for the original spot. The ad seems better, IMO, as they entirely removed the faux patient encounter....
I posted a link to the new spot in a video response (above).

The irony is Dr. Tendler was no doubt chosen to appeal to females, who clearly are the target market for Restasis (dry eye is more common in females).
She's more relaxed than most docs, and hence the contrast of jumping to conclusions and treating without a full work-up and case history.
Some docs are actually intimidated by patients who ASK questions, or feel threatened by patients who use the internet to research diagnoses.
A good doctor WELCOMES patients motivated to educate themselves.
