  • Favorite song of all time!!!

  • 49 DIS LIKES?!! FUCK YOU PEOPLE! THIS IS LINK WRAY!!!!!! WORSHIP BABY!!!!!!!! he made punk and heavy rock possible, so fuck off!!

  • Best instrumental rock'n roll forever.

  • everyone can quit going on and on about his attitude already. what made the guy great was his TALENT. attitude alone doesn't cut it. you can have all the attitude you want and STILL suck. just look at music today....lol.

  • I couldn't find this song for the longest time, even though I heard it on It Might Get Loud when Jimmy Page was rockin' out to it, but I couldn't find the video of him rocking out to it so i never learned what it was. Then I forgot about it for awhile. I was just watching Pulp Fiction moments ago, and during the awkward silence conversation between Vincent and Mia this song is playing. I jumped with excitement and looked it up and it led me here. So happy.

  • @gimpyguitarist yer stoked dude. his other songs are as good.....old AND new versions.

  • I got here thanks to Jimmy Page!

  • Cool as fuk like a serial killer geetar player

  • I got to see Link before he passed away, man what a guitar player!

49 Justin Bieber fans don't like this video.

  • All I want is a time machine.

  • how is this the top video for this song? its got the fucking worst audio quality possible!!!!

  • 48 people are not from the western world

  • every time i see a Link Wrap. i think of this guy.

  • Spread Eagle Cross the Block anyone?

  • @xXKissTehCookXx fuck yeah

  • Perfect!!! nasty as Rock'n'Roll must be...

  • What a badass.

  • howw common is the last name wray?

  • Link Wray raped me.

Lucky for me his wiener is tiny and it didn't rip my vaggie.

  • @JoeFranklinRapedMe you liked it....

  • Jesus! Can't believe how similar Townshend loves the power chords and wraps up a live track too. I've just discovered this guy and I'm hooked! Why is he not in the Hall of Fame???

  • Link Wray along with Chuck Berry and Les Paul were the original "Guitar Heroes".

  • @altroval

Duane Eddy...is another "Guitar Hero" then and now. Duane, will headline the Viva Las vegas at the Orleans Hotel in Las vegas, Nevada on April 7, 2012

His new Album "Road Trip" will be available on ITunes Dec 13,2011 and at amazon.com after that.

Keep up with him on his FaceBook and Twitter accounts as well as The Duane Eddy Circle, com

  • Fucking great track

  • The 48 people who disliked this will be condemned by the gods of Rock.

Hell, even J.J.Page idolizes this great Riff Guitarist --who is Link Wray.

IDK the reason for your disliking but, Go F uck yourselves ;D

  • I don't get it, how can anyone disklike this? I can't even imagine a retard unliking this...

  • So cool :)

  • Adam and The Ants : Killer In The Home.

  • @Noodles37UK LOL, yeah i never made the connection till a few years ago, duh!!

  • @bangtwister Turns out their guitarist Marco Pirroni is a fan of this guy. Adam's Vive Le Rock look seems hinged on what we're seeing here too. Pretty influential.

  • Yeah, yeah, who cares, it's all been done a million times before. Dumb septics !

  • Wow, he looks bada.. with that guitar and has an amazing sound...

    This is classic!

  • Gee, sounds like any other boring guitar work. Can we please start up another universal instrument for a change!

  • @betterthanbrad Lol you idiot! This was made in the 50's and Link Wray invented the power chord. This song was so badass that it was banned in it's day... and it didn't even have lyrics. Way to judge something written over 50 years ago by today standards... actually it's better than 99% of the shit today.

  • he´s like king of sex here

  • Master of badassery. Sort of reminds me of Fuck You Blues by The Electric Flamingos

  • check out scorpio woman - so erotic!~

  • got to hang out with him at palookaville in santa cruz he was so cool!! let me take all kinds of pics

  • The Guitarist that spawned a million guitarists

  • @Rosieisapunk1200=yeah and go tothe YOUTUBE video (system wont let me put in actual full link) that ends in /MWct5zzxn4Y called "JIMMY PAGE LISTENING & LAUGHING" to see Led Zep icon

playsair guitar while playing the actual 45 single ..and in the It Might Get Loud video with him the Edge & Jack White he shares it with them..and, he was 49 here playing a 20 yr old 3 chord rock song made before ANY effects boxes or feedback..just what you & your hands & the amp'sbuiltin vibrato&echo effex

  • @Rosieisapunk1200=PS Rosie..also in 1978, the very Link Wray inspired & brilliant The Cramps performed their shockrockabilly @the Napa Valley mental Institution (go 2 clip "Cramps at Napa Mental Hospital" posted by alligatordevil) & driving the people wild & un-crazy. A long performing terrific band that was always killer live, lead guitarist is the lovely Poison Ivy Rohrshach (in a super longtime rocknroll marriage 2 singer (RIP) Lux Interior.LP= "Songs the Lord Taught Us" is Genius! go girl!

  • @Rosieisapunk1200=last ps promise! if we love the nasty sound of Link, you gotta love this

"IS THIS THE NASTIEST SONG & video that noone ever saw?" cool Cramps song "Like a Bad Girl Should" (go to youtube link ending in /PCYnTK9GvZc) that they did 20 years into THEIR career.Lux & Ivy ultrasick it up in the video themselves (Ivy's playing chops & and yowza shape sure held up)..is Ivy THE definition of BADGIRL? could be.

  • Top 5 greatest rock instrumentals

    1. Rumble

    2. Genocide

    3. Earth is Crying

    4. Geronimo

    5. Street Fighter

    Artist Link Wray

  • I was learning the blues scale and unconsciously started playing this song

  • LOVED this song it was the theme song to Screaming Yellow Theater with a scream over which was hosted by Jerry G Bishop in the character of Svengoolie! What a blast from the past!!!!

  • When I hear that I get this image of two gangs of Greasers coming down the street head on into a rumble

  • Still Amazing....such an influence!!! RIP.

  • Looks like Jon Paris on bass- no slouch on guitar himself. Not sure who the drummer is.

  • This has a different bassline to the original 58 version. The original has a jazzy one

  • Excellent!

  • der "musikladen" taucht immer wieder auf !!!! ;)

  • Great Guitar and Bass Work! Go Link Wray and company...take a standard blues progression, add electric guitar feedback and a few sweet coordinated licks... this is true Rock and Roll attitude!

  • Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, What do they all have in common? They all cite Link Wray as an influence.

  • Anyone who knows who got copyright on this video?

  • Link Wray was metal before rock n roll, this is possibly the single most influential piece of guitar music ever written.

  • link wray created the power chord everyone...and was a badass member of the

    shawnee nation tribe...

  • @navojoARISTOCRAT That is true? Shawnee community is near to where I live, but nobody outside knows it is there. I believe they are part Swedish, because of the bloodline of John Friend. If that is true, he may be closely related to Brian Wilson, MGrace Slick, who are all Swedish. Or partly so.

  • @howtoplanaparty

(laughing) no man, not shawnee in sweden, shawnee is a native american nation...

  • Elvis didn't fucking play guitar,he just posed with one.Link invented this shit, and in Rumble all this badassery is achieved with only 3 fucking chords.

  • @baboonlove4u sorry to be pedantic, but it's 4 chords.

  • @MREL1M1NATOR it came about in 1958, a time when pretty much all you'd hear on the radio was "How much is that doggie in the window" or occasional Elvis tune - so there was nothing else like it for heaviness - an instrumental that actually got banned! Link went as far as poking holes in his guitar amp's speaker to make the sound extra heavy & distorted - so it blew away quite a few people who where looking for the bloosey grit - including a young Jimmy Page.

  • Fucking awesomee!! ♥

  • He influenced a lot of punk guitarists with his distortion techniques.

  • @zippobang ok thx you !

  • @zippobang = Richard Thompson's Shoot out the Lights.

  • @zippobang

he poked holes in the cones of the speaker and re-wired the vacuum tube or on that nature to get the distorted effect desired...

  • This guy is an absolute tosser! He's like an Elvis wannabe, with his movements and looks. But the song is epic, and it is the 70's.......so i'll let it slide. lol

  • @FREEBIRD654321 You don't have a fucking clue, but we'll let it slide.

  • @FREEBIRD654321 With all due respect to Elvis I need to clear something up with ya. This song was originally released by Link Wray in '58 when he would have successfully skull fucked the king and pissed in the crater. Elvis was never a badass like this guy.

  • never be anyone the same, even his own son wont match him ;) but the comments u all have left are well thanked

    Shayne Wray

  • so cool

  • Pulp Fiction?

  • Love this dude!

  • wow you got a lot of hits for Rumble ......he is one of a kind

  • he's from my tiny home town in North Carolina! was the Denim capital of the world until the mill got sent over seas but we'll always have him!

  • Link wray is terrible, what garbage that he's better than Elvis. He plays like a 5 year old learning to play guitar. Elvis also sucks as well, so that makes Link extra terrible. What terrible music. Geeesh!

  • @paddygs I disagree with your opinions! Let us do pointless, inane arguing to decide who's right on this subjective matter! Truly, if I insult your mother or your sexuality enough, you will come to see my point of view!

  • @PoisonPeachPit Brilliant! Can I steal that?

  • @InfiniteTurtles By all means, my good man.

  • Link Wray was the innovator...Simple but true...

  • Is this oin Pulp fiction?

  • when i can't think of what to play i play Link Wray

  • Why is he NOT in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

  • WOW LOOK AT HIM GO! Elvis seems tame in comparison

  • Anton Fig on drums?

  • @presidentsherman Yep, good call.

  • This was definitely a 70's performance. You can tell be the equipment. The drums have clear heads and impact dots, etc.

  • this guy has got a gigantic head!! :)

  • No way that Rumble was in 1978. It was 1958.

  • @Grisbi6 I think the video titles that this particular performance was from 1978, even though the song was recorded 1958

  • The Father of Thrash

  • I had the pleasure of being the 1000th person to like this video.

RIP Link Wray; the father of distortion.

  • Had the pleasure of seeing Link in the early 60's at some hole in the wall club across from the Greyhound Station in DC.

The bar is now long gone, but the Bus station and I both remain in the area.

    Link was unbelievable, as always.

    R.I.P. LINK RAY FOREVER!!!!!!!!!

  • The origin of noise rock. Amazing.

  • How can someone not think this is badass. My god it had to scare some people to death when it first came out.Legend.
