love this clip. very cool. It is amazing how many years this band spans and the amount of material/footage/songs are still out there. True American icon; The Grateful Dead.
yeah, i agree. but thanks to youtube i'm seeing all sorts of heady clips left n right i otherwise would not have ever run into. sweet Deal, by the way
Why is there such a scarcity of Dead legacy on Youtube? I mean there's a lot, but there are barely any classic shows of Deal other than this one! Or Help on the Way! And now there's no '71 version for Uncle John's Band either! Doesn't anybody agree?
@theperson37 Shit yeah, you can't even find the damn video for Hell In A Bucket on here. Why anybody would want to I don't know, but Lord knows I've tried.
@theperson37 well thepiratebay(use at your own risk because of the new sopa act) has all the dead sound bords from 66 on to 96 9 gigs each usualy 2 seasons per year. The grateful dead said that their music is for the world and it is. Archive.org(com?) has alot of dead. And on a side note, thepiratebay should still be okay to download GD from because it is not copyrighted(well the albums are)
hey now..i was able 2 get my hands on this videio in 1983 from a good freind who went to germany to see the band and i have had that show on VHS ever since..what energy and what a show,,thanks gents
This is definitely my favorite axe of Jerry's. I wish he had kept playing his Travis Bean. I loved the tone of this guitar. cheetotito, I thought it was the Travis Bean Artist model axe of his that went up for auction.
I think this is the last three single-coil guitar Jerry played before going back to a modified Wolf in late 1977.
The Travis Bean you see here is going up for Auction Next Month!!!! Get your pennies together and keep an eye on the situation! And yea those Travis Beans are amazing guitars, very unique tone.
Actually, Donna was graceful and a very mesmerizing presence on stage. Some dude climbed up on the stage in Indy, 1976?, and tried to dance with her. Many of the soundboard recordings fail to compensate for her return to the vocals, causing some to grimace.
An entire concert on youtube, featuring Bob weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart. Only on AfterFiveMidnight channel. 3 hours of video put here to share with you. Have fun fellow heads and enjoy.
Please . . if nothing else . . . make sure . . that the last thing you do . . is let that deal go down . . . on second thought . .. not even then . . . . NEVER let that deal go down . . . obviously . . you'd be a fool if you did.
Good ole 1977 - what a great year for the Dead. Garcia was healthy for possibly the last time in his life, Bobby had that stupid disco beard, Donna was wearing the matronly dresses and trying to stay on key, and Keith was just trying to stay awake at the piano. Man, did they rock both East Coast tours that year. This footage is grainy and the 1st 2 minutes have got to go, but Garcia really winds it up at the end. Deal was always a terrific 1st set closer.
Donna sounds good.
