I notice the above magnet is doubled and taped. Is there some sheet metal or other material on it? I've heard that you need some sort of magnetic shielding so the opposite pole doesn't stop your spin or influence it. I've tried it and it seems to stop or only rotate when influencing it with the above magnet. How do you get it to spin so fast?
The sphere is being pulled around the table by the magnet above.
Rather than slipping, the sphere grips the table and thus spins.
Because the circumference of the circle of contact (between sphere and table) is very small, a relatively quick spin rate is acheived by modest dragging.
The same effect could be acheived by dragging a sphere around with a piece of elastic.

oui c'est un aimant circulaire au dessus ! il y a effectivement une configuration posssible de plusieurs aimants cubique à la place de l'aimant circulaire.
