Listen, I had it stuck in endless recovery mode once too. Not one of these programs worked for me on my ipod touch 4g. If you have this same problem listen up. What your going to need is a Mac. Now I don't have one either, and if you don't have one go to a friend or someone that has a Mac, I went to an apple store (which ofcourse you can also do). And plug it in and click restore. It should restore perfectely, if it doesn't work try it again. I hope I helped! -rbdtj199

You are a God. My phone was stuck in a recovery loop and couldn't be restore due to an upgrade to 6.15 baseband. I used IREB to which enabled me to go into DFU mode, then I restored a custom 4.2.1 (with 6.15 baseband) ROM.

SOLUTION:

1. When trying to downgrade 3.1.3 to 3.1.2, I got the 1015 error and resulted in being stuck in Recovery Mode.

2. After disconnecting my iPhone, I rebooted my pc. Once in Windows, I plugged in my iphone and started iREB (v 3.1.2 for Windows).

3. On iREB main menu, I clicked on the Fix Recovery Mode Loop button. I then clicked on the button stating that I did not have the LibUSB installed.

4.Followed instructions on how to install it and continued with iREB by clicking on “OK! I finally have LibUSB installed…” That button launched the Recovery Mode Loop 1.0 Fixer.

5.I clicked on iPhone 3G, since that is the model I have. My phone’s screen displayed the silver apple with an indicator bar beneath it, the same one seen when it’s restoring.

6.Once it was done, I put in an ATT SIM card into the phone because the phone asked for one. I opened up iTunes, which recognized the phone as needing to be set up (I didn’t get the message about needing to restore!).

7.I set it up as a new phone and now it’s ready to go with 3.1.2 installed.

Apparently, the “failed” downgrade is actually successful, but since the phone gets stuck in Recovery Mode, we fail to recognize it.

once you open the IREB - Click "Fix recovery mode loop" and choose first "NO, I don't have lib...." and follow the instruction... after you download the LibUSB, before installing right click first and set compatability to "winxp service pack 2" if you are running winvista or win7, if not no need to set compatability. preceed to program installation... once you done go back to ireb and rerun it again choose "Yes! I have libusb installed...". I hope this help.
