  • I wish movies now-a-days were short and straight to the point like these. Great film.

  • @MovieMATTINEEChannel "She was female not male." Gee, I never would have guessed. For the record, references to actors are now becoming gender neutral and both male and female are sometimes called actors, just like we no longer call female poets poetesses.

  • What a waste of Monroe's talent & star image. The film meanders along mainly by the gift of gab, &, in the case of Monroe, incoherent gab. You'd think Widmark would have caught on in the first minutes talking to her the girl was wacko. This is Grand Hotel as Gothic Horror. None of it gels; the ending is contrived to link the 2 stories. Widmark give Monroe crash therapy. Monroe's character has no sympathy at all. Ten mts into the film one wants to kick her in the pants. Yet she looked gorgeous.

  • This last, ending scene is really golden. It almost reminds me of the whole Blanche Dubois "I've always depended on the kindness of strangers..."

  • This is the best Marilyn Monroe film I have seen so far both in terms of her acting and the script. She should have been nominated for some awards for this performance.

  • sad, i saw a doc that the only thing she wanted was serious roles. not to play a gold digging blonde looking for a rich husband. also how the producers wanted her to do things their way or no way. so she gave in bc she loved to act. poor soul.

  • This was a good movie! Thank you for posting it! I've gotta get it and add it to my collection!!! Excellent entertainment viewing for a rainy Friday night!!

  • i love how everyone is calling a not so innocent woman innocent ... how uncanny ... she has u all fooled

  • @NIghtRider805 Who cares if she was or wasn't innocent?

  • @fuschiadreams obviously i do

  • @NIghtRider805 Why? What difference exactly does it make to your life?

  • Great eyes, Marilyn.

  • I love Norma Jeane so much, especially after watching this movie!

  • I watched the whole movie and it was a good one. Marilyn did a really good job playing a crazy girl I was so into it lol but good job Marilyn!!! Love ur work -3

  • good movie!!!!

  • NORMA JEAN, I LOVE YOU, AS DOES THE REST OF THE WORLD. YOU WERE SO BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTY SO REAL, UN TOUCHED, NOT LIKE TODAY. THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER YOU. YOU ARE AND WILL ALWAYS BE, FOREVER YOUNG. I LOVE YOU NORMA, LOVE ALLIE VETERE, REVERE, MASS

  • He should have stayed with Marilyn's character. But I guess it all worked out for the best in the end.

  • Yay! I'm glad I stuck with it to the end the ending was fantastic!

  • Marilyn was excellent in this movie! She really pops out and makes the whole film work. It really shows that MM wanted to be an actress, not just a movie star. But she really was an artist. She is wonderful

  • Very compelling, disturbing film, a bit Hitchcockian. You can see why Marilyn embraced the Strasbourgs later on in an attempt to be taken seriously as an actress, even though she proved her worth so early in this forgotten film. That's not to say her comedy was not good, just hugely restrictive/one dimensional. I loved watching this film. Made me think of a very early 50s take on Fatal Attraction or The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, or Girl, INterrupted!

  • That was MM like I've never seen her before...brilliant talent

  • On her last interview Marilyn told that "Don't Bother to Knock" had been one of her (if not) favorite films she had ever made. Her real wish was playing drama rols, leaving her sex appeal at a side.. But as things turned out, Hollywood neglected her talent and focused in her amazing -box office breaking- sexyness.

Her dream of being a serious actress went shattered, but it gave us the iconic, sweet sex symbol Marilyn we all love...

  • I love Bunny's mom, I'd do the same as a mother. Marilyn actually turned out to be amazing here. She is always a good actress.

  • what was she holding that Jed said "Give it to me" and Lyl said "Don't do that Nell" about?

  • @rlpDean, she was holding a razor, and I'm thinking they thought she might try to hurt herself with it.

  • Thats very good acting of everybody. Such convincing acting puts modern actors into shadow. It must have been hard for Marilyn to get into the character especially with her mama taken away from her and put away in a mental institution. Thats like reliving your fears and confronting them. Proof of strong character an average person runs away from his fears all his live. She took the fears by the horns. I can understand why the competition feared her, she is loaded with too much talent .

  • WOW! I love movies like this. They keep you on your toes until the very end! :D Nowadays, you can tell how a movie is going to end before it even begins lol ;D

  • Wow! WHAT A MOVIE! WOW! 5 stars! =D

    <3

Thank-you so much for uploading! I can't believe I missed out on this Marilyn film! It was stupendous! Her performance was so realistic and poignant I was crying!

  • Marilyn was great actress .But she didn't have too many occasions to prove that.

  • wow so beautiful im crying brovo brovo

  • Brilliant movie... stunning actress we miss her so much, Rip Marilyn you were great no matter what they said ! ♥

  • amazing movie just validete how great Marilyn Monroe was, she will live forever in her films, thank you for uploading this movie!!!!!!!

  • were there really such things as hotel detectives back then?

  • this is so heartbreaking... you could easily remark this with all of the casaulties coming out of Iraq/Afghanistan...

    Its before its time in a few ways, but its good to see a responsible ending to a character with mental illness;

she gets help rather than being killed of for her 'sins' which was the usual treatment.

    thanx so much for posting.

  • Anne Bancroft debut plus Widmark and

    MM...how thrilling!

  • woah he totally threw her on the floor!

  • Haha, that was a great way to end Part 7.

LOVED this movie. Thanks for uploading!

  • Miss Nell was probably in line for being wrapped in damp sheets and getting some ECT treatments

  • why is no one talking about anne she was great in this too......

  • I can't believe that was her. She was so young, so not Mr.s Robinson.

  • very great movie!!!

  • She was never a dumb actress but a good actor and a good singer. but they had to sell her as she's dumb blond. so sad. and her real life mother spent most of her life in mental hospital. her first TV movie like this wasn't just accidental.

  • @wonsex

she was an actress not an actor...she was female not male.

  • Wow, Marilyn was terrific. I love her earlier roles because there's something much more fresh and natural that you don't see when she was a (deserving) star.

I can't help but feel that at the moment at 4:25 rings true to Marilyn as a star, her simultaneous fear and love with the camera: an innocent deer in the headlights with everyone around her with nothing else to do but stare. It's truly heartbreaking to witness.

  • great movie

  • WOW!! That was FAN-TASTIC!! MM did a great job!! Thanks for uploading this!!

  • I'm rather surprised now, Marilyn was amazing in this movie. I never could have have imagined she could act like that. I see her in a totally different way now.

A wonderful movie that really got me! Thx for uploading it.

  • As much as I love Marilyn, I must say this is a totally different role than her other films. Which are mostly comedic. Bravo Marilyn!

  • great movie thank you!

  • OMFG she was a presenter at the oscars someware around the time she made this film...she should have been the one winning it not presenting! She was amazing in this film, Marilyn is my idol she was so great! Thanks a lot for posting this!

  • Thanks heaps for posting this. I love MM. She's known more as a comic actress but roles like this prove what an amazing range she had. Love her!

  • she acts magnifcent in this basicly all of her films
