yes they operate Chicago Dance and are the most wonderful people. They both teach ballroom there.

this is Gregory Day & Tommye Giacchino, probably about 12 yrs ago at the Ohio Star Ball which was broadcast on PBS as Championship Ballroom Dancing. Thx to the poster. LOVE this routine!!! Loved seeing it again after all these years.

Are they dancers? This was amazing, but I did not see any kind of dance in their routine...This was half gymnastics...

Yes they are dancers, but their division is different from others. Their routines will always be mainly about lifts and strength but with a few dance moves in them and when competing they will be judge on that.

in ballroom, this is a division called Theater Arts. in other competitions, it is also called Cabaret. lifts are allowed/required. not an easy division. as you can see, much dance training makes for amazing artistry. i believe Gregory had an extensive ballet background.
