My views on the Wiccan Rede - Chapter 1.3

Where do your morals come from and what if mine aren't the same as yours? Whose would be correct?

@openairjenny I was raised to have respect for others, to speak my mind when the time is right, to stand up for those who are oppressed, and challenge those who are selfish and greedy. By the way... I was raised in an Atheist household, so this trap of 'morals are only found in religion' is false.

My morals come from how I was raised and from the trail and error course that is life. Generally it's wrong to take things that don't belong to you (be an individual, a group, or a business). Think about it... would you like it if someone was constantly stealing from you? And constantlu stealing from a store(s) just causes them to raise their prices so everyone pays for the greed of one.

GREED is spawned from Selfishness which tends to harm all even the Self.

Would you like to hang around a Selfish person all the time who cares only about themself? Of course not!

Now when someone steals some food cause they are starving that is a 'gray area'. The reasons for their finacial folly can be many but the point is desperation drives a person to forget their morality and do whatever they have to do to survive.

I am not perfect and neither are you. The truth is no one is. We are all only Human and Humans make mistakes and we will continue to.

Even you no matter how righteous you claim to be. And so will I. All we can do is make up for the bad things we do, apologize, learn what lessons we can from it, and move on trying not to repeat those mistakes.
