I watched Aurore and it is excellent but a very, very emotionally hard movie, which is based on a true story that happened in 1920 in Ste Philomène de Fortierville,Qc.The 1950's version of the movie, Aurore l'enfant martyre is even harder.

I like horror and macabre movies but can tell you with honesty that Aurore is with the 1950's version of it the most disturbing movie I ever saw

if you think this movie is horrible, Then you should see the ORIGINAL version of the movie.

Marie-Anne wasnt the mother, only step mother and Aurore`s real mother was still alive.

This movie is extremely...Scarring for kids. Ive only seen the second version but my mother told me that it was a lot less horrofying then the first version...

The 2 parents ended up in Jail(thank God) But Marie-Anne had killed more than Aurore she also killed 2 of Aurore`s siblings.

Well, things like that happen all the time and all over the world. This woman was sick in the head (literally). Aurore is not the only child that died in this family, though it seems she was the only one who suffered that kind of treatments. Seems she was dealing with a sick psychopath (really, if you read the doctors' testimonies during her trial, that's what they say, though medecine wasn't as evolved as it is today, in 1920).

And one thing that makes it even worse in real life to my opinion, is that there never were such people who tried to meddle in this "family business", to save the child. Her death came up pretty unexpected from what I've read, and her condition wasn't really known in town. Though there seems that some people were getting somewhat suspicious in the end (neighbors and stuff). Mentalities, morals were different at this time of age.

How horrible... I Felt so happy the way i was living, just by watching the movie for ten minutes! I feel soo bad for her...I wouldn't have been able to stand the pain on my body, and in my heart, knowing that i was being killed outside and in! How could abusing be a way to "punish" your kids!!??
