I've heard a couple of the english fire songs. All I have to say is Nekki Basara > Rak Nabekasi. Rak's voice should NOT be used for rock. Possibly disco, but DEFINITELY not rock.

Do your research. Disney was airing cartoons before 1933. The first anime was aired in 1963. The name of the anime was Astro Boy.

I do know that Anime came out late in history, 1960 to be precise was the earliest animation I know from the hand of Osamu Tezuka the creator of Astro Boy, but believe me when I say the movies from 20 years back are all better than what It Is shown today, TV is getting stupider by the minute even Sir Connery thinks that as well.I still think anime is better because the characters and plotline from animes like Fate Stay Night and Death Note.

out of all the English Fire album songs, this was the guy's worst performance. His Seventh Moon is much better, and his Try Again is amazing.

Hes not that bad, its just that his voice sucks in that it doesn't fit the music genre. Its country or I guess oldie rock-ish. It really should be modern rock to maybe alternative.

That's the point. The English Fire is a joke they Originally made in Japan. In Macross 7 Dynamite, there is a "Fire Bomber American" that resides on Macross 11, made of only Americans. The group claims that our Beloved Macross 7 Fire Bomber is infact a Copy Cat. If you listen closely during the Asteroid scene you can here a couple of the songs.

Also, Pixar is an american company and that companies animation quality is some of the best in the world...just saying...

As far as voice acting goes. We have a few good voice actors here...but for the most part I agree with you on this one...

I would not comment on japan copying Disney, I don't know anything about that. However, even if that's true, that does not make America great in animation now. Compared to Japanese animation, they do a very poor job. Perhaps my expectations from the animated work are very high, I no longer bother to see the animated movies they are releasing now a days. Sure, there were plenty of good ones by Disney, but that's the golden age. It no longer exists.

One more note, as far as the use of special effects in movies goes, American productions use loads of ideas from Japanese animated series, just an indication of how they are losing creativity these days.

I don't mean this as an insult, but you should do more research. You can like anime animation and art if you want, I know I do, but it isn't the best in the world. In fact if you want to work for a game company and you show them portfolio work with anime style art they won't hire you. *grumble grumble*

Even in Japan they don't want it in your portfolio work as much as you'd think.

And the animation from Japan isn't as great as you think. They copy paste a lot. But hey, I love anime as well.

Americans unfortunately could not get around this mindset that animated series are created for the juveniles.

I think you clearly haven't seen the whole spectre of it, you are missing the point. American animation is much more cheese,the characters are based on a role models, like lets say Mrs.Incredible personallity has been around since the days of the Wilma Flintstone. As far as anime goes there is a whole spectre of characters that aint accepted in western audiences. And If It is visual quality what you want try Scrapped Princess.

That is an uninformed accusation. There are plenty of western cartoons that defy everything that you've just said.

Invader Zim had great characters that broke the mold for western cartoons.

I love anime. I really do, but I don't blindly think it's the best just because it is anime. I think anime these days are getting worse and worse. They aren't anything compared to the old days. There are a few good new ones, but most are generic and lack originality.

That's Ok, but I was talking about the CGI animated feature films todays.Howl's Moving Castle is better than all pixar movies together.There are awesome american characters and plotlines like Spawn but you can't compare Invader Zim with Spawn,Spawn is much more serious, a lot better and like 6 years older.I do think the last good animation as far visual quality goes is american,called DragonFlyz that people barely know but I also think all the characters were plain predictable.

Howl's Moving Castle better than all pixar movies together? Not only is that an opinion, as far as animation quality goes that is an all out lie. Also, pixar makes use of 3d models where as Howl's Moving castle is traditional cartoon. You can't compare them.

I wasn't comparing Spawn to Invader Zim, I was trying to make it a wide spectrum. Just like in anime, not all plot lines and art styles are serious.

DragonFlyze? There have been better animated cartoons since then.

Dude I'm not taking any of your comments as an offense.And yeah I exagerated big time here, I think Pixar evolved and inproved greatly the personallity of the characters WALL-E is an insightful movie from every aspect.But what I find bad about Pixar is what I find in most kids cartoons nowadays,they don't have a fictional personallity, remember Clarissa Explains It All? her personallity was well defined and you actually believed that a living person could think and behave like that.

I think that one of the biggest differences between american cartoons and japanese anime is the setting. The reason you think that anime characters have personalities that "a living person could behave and think like that." is because most anime takes place in school. The characters relate to the viewers because they go through the same problems we do. In most american cartoons the characters are super heroes or something to that effect. So they usually have "super personalities."

@BurnRoddy As much as I hate getting involved in petty youtube arguments about who is better than who, John Lasseter and Hayao Miyazaki are good friends and would probably hate to see people comparing the two of them, they love each other's movies. Heck, Totoro is showing up in Toy Story 3

Disney copied a lot of things. All of their movies are based off of old stories. Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, etc.

there are no books. If you do your research the series timeline goes like this Macross Zero, SDF Macross, DYRL (movie) Flashback, Macross Plus, Macross 7 and now Macross Frontier, Macross II doesn't even count anymore.

Macross 7 is a love it or hate it because of it's light hearted drama and music style being recycled of Macross Plus and II.

There are 21 novels, but are Robotech novels not Macross novels.The story drifts dramatically its sreiusly edited and at the end most of the characters survive while in Robotech they die. After the end of the first Robotech there is no more conection with Macross except by casuallities like the fact that they advanced the concept of mindcontrolling the mechas as we see in Macross Plus.

There is no Battle7 on Robotech.Robotech ends after the 3rd series.There is an OVA called Robotech The Movie though.Anyway Robotech is an adaptation of 3 different animes,the story dramatically changes after SDF.Macross last ep,in Robotech most people die while in Macross they live.Robotech next focuses on the Robotech wars(Invid invasion),while Macross has a much more detailed and developped evolution of the relationship between humans and Zentraedi and finaly the arrival of the Protodeviln.

Harmony Gold still holds rights in distributing Macross, which is one of the reasons we don't see allot of it get to the US. Though given time we may yet see some Macross 7 eventually get an English sub/dub, and marketed outside of Japan.

I love this, it's a great alternative to the Japanese vocal and I think it works well. It starts a little soft, but by the first verse is half-way through the singer has found the power and is belting it properly - excellent rendition.

I don't choose between Jap and Eng dub based on comparison, but on individual merits... and since most Enlgish dubs suck badly it's no contest anyway - but this is really great.
