well if you dont believe him, try out the Hi-Beam Prod.Line of DR Strings. Im playing a 10-52 Set for about 10 months now and believe me or not but they havent changed since the first day. they got their price but its a premium string.
I've used other strings besides D'Addarios just to try them out but they never perform the same. And they break! I've rarely had a D'Addario break on me after years of using them.

He's played at the Grand Ole' Opry, as well as on Mariah Carey etc. albums, aside from the Manson/Zombie stuff. "Versatility" should be John's middle name, yet he still manages to also retain "his own style", with that spooky/chicken pickin'/shred-vibe. 1 of the world's best. Period.

I actually did look-up a comparison between a Mahogany and Alder Maple, after I posted my comment, and I do think that the Maple would actually have a bit of a "heavier" tone, based on what I read. The Squier-model is Alder, while the actual Fender signature model is actually Ash....at least...that's what I've read, anyway. I don't actually own either one, I do however, have a (Mahogany) Les Paul ;-)

Comparing most solo guitarists is typically an apples to oranges comparison. The ones that have established their names as solo artists generally have their own unique style and tone. John 5 isn't quite there yet.
and probably will never be, but as for metal, where the most part of guitarists are on a lower level as the solo artists, john5 is one of the best i've seen. now, i will have to hear those songs where you say he pirated the licks from, cause i didn't know that

Building a band alone is a difficult task. Not every musician has what it takes to do it full time whether it's due to mental capacities or their skills. I was recently talking to an established solo guitarist who is INCREDIBLY organized, even he runs into hang ups with his band mates commitments. Some musicians refuse to marry their music so it will never exceed a hobby level.

my youtube and myspace page aren't even worked on at a hobby level and those recordings sound coarse because they are direct recorded rather than recorded with a mic and speaker which are very forgiving. I actually use very little distortion and don't use depth effects, it's course because it's running 50hz-96khz, lol. Meanwhile a guitar speaker caps off the highs at 6-7khz. But, as far as what I'm playing is concerned, it's 100% unique and farm more complex than anything does or can do.
Lastly, John 5 records behind an ocean of depth with signal wetter than the Atlantic. My distortion never goes past 2-3 where as his signal is using heavy clipping and soaked with delay. He's also hiding behind a mic, I'm plugged in direct through a Zoom G2, of course it sounds raspy, I'm using literally 16 times the bandwidth, just do the math 96/6. On stage, I would give him the spanking to wound him for a lifetime.
Manson DID "kick" him, but it was an agreement between the two. Manson and John5 doesn't have the same vision of music and Manson didn't want to change John5 as he thought it would be unfair. So they split up and continued their own ways.
i cant remember what interview it was, but he was mentioning all the different music he listens to and it was literally everything from Country music and blue, to hard rock and metal
Yeah he's a pretty diverse guitarist, its a sign of good musicianship. Perhaps the most guitarist ever imo is Buckethead. A lot of you John 5 fans would love him if you heard him, I recommend checking him out. He's done almost every style of music there is.

I feel John5 is a bit more.. hm, "Modern" so to speak. Buckethead's music is a bit more weird, which still is wonderful. Alot of the sound Buckethead got is due to the mystic feel it has, but even though John5 got a bit of that his music is in a slightly less "dreamy" state.

I'm a very advanced player, along the lines of Gilbert or Cooley who are probably the top two out of the top 5 established names. What I see and hear John 5 doing is good but, I feel his fancy licks are pirated and can pin point the songs they're hacked from.

Comparing most solo guitarists is typically an apples to oranges comparison. The ones that have established their names as solo artists generally have their own unique style and tone. John 5 isn't quite there yet.

Rob Zombie evolved into pop metal. He does everything in the studio himself then uses his band on tour. Comparing Rob Zombie to Pantera is a fucking joke dude. I like White Zombie but they're pop metal. Dime was in the process of recording a solo album when he was killed. John5 has branched out and is doing the solo thing as well. I simply said after watching some of his solo work a few times, I wasn't impressed and his chops were collage work.

dont mean to eavesdrop or take sides..but from my experience, when i ask someone if they're good at guitar and they say something cocky like you just said, they usually suck. the ones that say "im not that good" or "im decent" tend to be the most experimental and creative guitarists i've ever heard. and pirating licks? dude..nobody does that. sometimes it just happens where its ALMOST exactly the same or it just sounds very similar. john has come up with many distinguished riffs...

Retard you don't patent circuits as they're not new inventions unless you've created a device that does something that has never existed before. Check sites like Arron's stompbox forum, hundreds of us build pedals that we don't sell but I can assure you blow away the shit you buy from Boss, MXR, Line6 etc.
I've owned about every brand and processor out there, Zoom is by far the most versatile. I prefer the G2 over my POD. The G2 is actually better than the G9 which I returned. You know nothing

And I've watched you're noodling, you're about 1/10 as good as I am. You need to learn arpeggios, eliminate using all that depth and study signal architecture such as what signal clipping is, frequency ranges, compression and how each relate to one another.
The circuit I designed by far outperforms anything available on the commercial market and I assure you if I were to start selling it, I could land easily $75 a pop. As it is, even custom and hobby builders are making nothing like it.

My writing is superb and besides, this is only youtube so it's not a gateway to any type of exposure no matter what you believe.
It's full of guitarists that are highly skilled but aren't likely to make a name for themselves commercially or even in the underground market.
I have a VERY unique sound an style so until I have a demo cut, copyrighted and circulating, I won't post any of my chops because I know for fact they'll get hacked because it's what many shredders do. They borrow to learn

Building a band alone is a difficult task. Not every musician has what it takes to do it full time whether it's due to mental capacities or their skills. I was recently talking to an established solo guitarist who is INCREDIBLY organized, even he runs into hang ups with his band mates commitments. Some musicians refuse to marry their music so it will never exceed a hobby level.
John 5 is filthy rich from being in a pop band, he can easily hire or just recruit session musicians.

There's no depth effects in my recordings idiot. No delay, no reverb. Get a fucking hearing aid so-that way you can find out how much you suck. You can't even hit basic arpeggios big mouth and your amp is a commercial, store bought piece of shit. I would humiliate you on any stage-you need to learn some humility. My tone is hardly even clipped, the distortion never goes past 3, you know absolutely nothing and are truly making a fool of yourself. Give it a rest and take some guitar lessons.

what I find funniest of all is, it took this guy 20 years to reach this level, I've been at it for 5 & can hit 8 finger taps quite clean. I also design & build my own audio circuits, mod guitars, pickups, amps, have built my own pedals & am currently building guitars from scratch which I will do all the work on including the painting. my youtube and myspace page aren't even worked on at a hobby level and those recordings sound coarse because they are direct recorded rather than recorded with a mic and speaker which are very forgiving. I actually use very little distortion and don't use depth effects, it's course because it's running 50hz-96khz, lol. Meanwhile a guitar speaker caps off the highs at 6-7khz. But, as far as what I'm playing is concerned, it's 100% unique and farm more complex than anything does or can do.

Lastly, John 5 records behind an ocean of depth with signal wetter than the Atlantic. My distortion never goes past 2-3 where as his signal is using heavy clipping and soaked with delay. He's also hiding behind a mic, I'm plugged in direct through a Zoom G2, of course it sounds raspy, I'm using literally 16 times the bandwidth, just do the math 96/6. On stage, I would give him the spanking to wound him for a lifetime.

Manson DID "kick" him, but it was an agreement between the two. Manson and John5 doesn't have the same vision of music and Manson didn't want to change John5 as he thought it would be unfair. So they split up and continued their own ways.

I feel John5 is a bit more.. hm, "Modern" so to speak. Buckethead's music is a bit more weird, which still is wonderful. Alot of the sound Buckethead got is due to the mystic feel it has, but even though John5 got a bit of that his music is in a slightly less "dreamy" state.
