Thats one cool old car, what did it start life as a 37 chevy?

@johninloveindaytona It's built on a '33 Chevy frame, extended, boxed, suicide 40 Ford front end with a '47 Ford firetruck body chopped and channeled over the frame. The turtle deck was made out of a '57 Ford hood with a coca cola box side panel for the trunk. '1953 Cadillac engine tied to a T-5 with a 9 inch Ford rear.

You know...if someone tried piecing together newer cars in the ratrod fashion...it'd be called junk, and would never pass inspection ever...and yet this car is at its core, old tin and license plates with a motor and trans...and its cool.

@rpeek sure...click on my name and see what i got so far in videos...today my son and i put 1/8th thick sheet metal pcs on top of the frame(this is what the body bolts will go through to hold body to frame)welded them to the back trunk area of the body and to the firewall. We then cut up an old jeep wrangler roll bar and are installing it as a bolt in.still no floor,windows or doors hung (well passenger door is tacked into place to help hold the body together.

The tall white walls on the green wheels is just classic. BTW I thought I was alone as a hot rod guy that also has a saab 900 turbo convertable. Nice to see another one once in awhile.

@rpeek I would have to agree with you. Mine is an 89 turbo convert. I wish it was a 5 speed car like nothing else. But even as an auto it's a bullet proof work horse thats a blast to drive. One of these days I will get back to my stash of sonnets and get one back on the road. But for now I am working on my 240Z with hopes for fun in the Z next summer.
