Redlining a diesel does absolutely nothing except phuck it. Your better off changing gear at 3500rpm, 4000rpm at a push., that way your getting all the turbo pressure :)

In the Kia Cee'd handbook it says 0-100 in 11,6, give or take.. I have the exact same car, so I'm having trouble believing that this is stock... Soon I'll have a Tuning box mounted, (gives me 144 hp) and then we'll see what kind of speeds I'll be able to reach;)
@amilo16 by using chip i'll lose the warranty, so no the tuning box is the better option. And so far I am very satisfied with the tuning box! car runs like a dream.
GPS is not always reliable for indicating speed in a satnav unit. It can give different readings at different times and it depends on what the satnav is doing. I used two different models of TomTom and got different speeds even though they were next to each other - the speedometer in a car will always read about 3mph over at 30mph and 7mph over at 70mph. It also depends on your tyre pressures.

I forgot all about this post, but in the mean-time I actually checked with my Kia mechanic who told me the same thing: the off is about 1km for speed in the range of 20 to 200km/h. So.. you are right. BTW, what cee'd do you have? Mine is a 1.4 petrol Best and the fastest I got with it was 180km/h.. I did not dare to do go any faster on romanian roads.

..he didn't.. if you watch the timeline, it's actually 11 sec, still a very, very good time. the oficial figure is 11sec anyway, and I don't think Kia would have published worse results
It is actually 10s if you watch it again. It looks and sounds like a great engine. In the UK the diesel is the best to tax and insure as it is very cheap - and no one in their right mind would steal a KIA.
They are even faster than a 1.6 & 1.8tcdi Ford Focus which is quite funny.

yesterday with my 1.6crdi 0-100 ( with traction control) - 9.76 sec and it`s not chipped it has 115 hp stock :)
