  • Love these guys,so glad Oprah had them on her show or I never would have known about them

  • This is an amazing performance of an amazing song. I used to listen to Jeff Buckley's rendition, but this is better. Everything about their performance is perfect. Thanks!

  • Some people in the other part of the world dont know how it is to be a christian in an unchristian place. This song lifts me up everytime I played it. God bless the four of you. Greetings from Middle East.

  • This song always makes me cry... And the Canadian Tenors singing it? Forget it... Might as well just give me 5 Kleenex boxes :P

    Its just beautiful :)

  • Love Fraser :) Ofcourse I love them all but in this particular song Fraser stood out to me

  • This fucking epic hallelujah say it loud gentleman

  • THESE GUYS ARE GREAT.MYRON464USA

  • I love it such an emotional song

  • Hallelujah!

  • This is the best version.

  • If Il Divo and the Canadian Tenors got together...stars, galaxies and wars would INSTANTLY STOP. Two very AMAZING groups. With love from Ontario :)

  • I love how they sing without overdoing it. This is subdued and simply exquisite. eye candy aside, the Canadian tenors each have beautiful voices and blend simply to perfection.

  • KD Lang has nothing on these guys. Canadian Tenors are 10x better.

  • @ButThenITookAnArrow but Josh Krajcik brought it to another level!

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are all AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love your style. Happy New Year to you all. I would love to sing with you one day, it would be like a dream come true.

  • something new. i've heard cohen version (which i personally love the most of course) about 100000 times, as well jeff buckley's, so it's nice to listen to that song in that scale.

  • Timeless....

  • I still like Leonard Cohen's version better...sounds strange to hear it sung in this range...

  • THE MEANING OF HALLELUJAH IS "PRAISE JEHOVAH" JAH IS THE SHORTENED FORM OF JEHOVAH, THE NAME OF THE TRUE GOD AND THE FATHER OF JESUS CHRIST !

  • @kfwahine Why are you shouting?

  • @kfwahine Uh.. Jehovah would be Jesus Christ BEFORE he came to the Earth. The Father of Jesus would be Elohim. Forgive me if I misspelled the name.

  • @TheNewDivide91 According to the Bible 'Jehovah' is the name of the one true God, and Jesus Christ is his son, the Firstborn of all creation. (Psalms 83:18 John 3:16; 17:3 Colossians 1:15, 16 just to name a few) Jehovah sent Jesus to the earth to sacrifice his life as a ransom so that we as imperfect humans could have the opportunity to have forgiveness of sins & to live forever on a paradise earth, as is Jehovah's original purpose for the earth & mankind.

  • @sammiejoe8787 Ok, just a few verses that I believe will help differentiate between the two. Exodus 6:2-3 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. So Jehovah is not God the Father. But He represents God the Father to the people of the earth.

  • @sammiejoe8787 Whenever the word LORD (all upper case) is mentioned in the Old Testament, it is translated from the Hebrew word, Yhovah. It is my understanding that the word Jehovah is a compound of the Hebrew verbs was, is and will be–in other words, the Eternal One. The Hebrew, Elohim, is the plural for the word, God, meaning the Gods. But it is taken as the name of the Father in Heaven.

  • @sammiejoe8787 Now, translating that first phrase above from the Hebrew, it would read, And Elohim spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am Yhovah. I wasn’t really Elohim who was speaking, as the scripture says, it was Jehovah.. The next verse explains that Jehovah appeared to the Patriarchs as El Shadday-Shadday–El (the singular of Elohim) and Shadday– meaning Almighty or the Most Powerful, implying God the Father, but by his name Jehovah, or the Eternal One

  • @sammiejoe8787 he was not known to them. The above is given to differentiate Jehovah from God the Father, or Elohim.

  • This touches my soul, I get chills every time!

  • I'm hardly a prude, but I not only love this song, but I'm SO GLAD to see a group clean shaven and dressed neatly! Congrats, C. Tenors!

  • the asus2 (i think) at the "hallelujah" just gets me every time

  • Guy to the left of the guitar player is the best thing.

  • Ive never heard that last verse before... did they add that in or is that a part of the original? If it is original I wonder what other verses I havent heard. Regardless though beautiful verse and beautiful song

  • i can never get over how good they are

  • Beautiful.

  • io mi sono innamorato di loro!

  • 25 people don't have souls.

  • Great version. These guys are really good. I try to listen to every version of this song that I can find. This one is up there in top five. I do wish they had done the whole song tho.

  • I prefer Il Divo.

  • Gives me chills every time :)

  • Why's he singing "beething" (1:18)? It's bathing...

  • @berrettamac

i agree somewhat they could do a little more in this vid but if you watch the emmy's they felt the music, it gave me goosebumps

  • 24 atheist disliked this vid.

  • Comment removed

  • I liked this before they sang it at the emmys, or got any type of popularity.

  • Just seems like it's being performed and not felt by the performers....Sounds nice but the heart is missing...The Jeff Buckly version is sung from a place that few performers reach into....This is nice but does not touch me like the J Buckly version...just my opinion.

  • BEAUTIFUL.....JUST BEAUTIFUL....BB

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • omg the middle one has A voice..

  • Beautiful tune but its about a woman who sucks the life out of a man and he surrenders to God. The Emmys were way off base by associating it with passed artists. Read the lyrics. Best version is by the songwriter himself. Cohen.

  • This has long been my favorite song, but when I heard The Canadian Tenors perform this during the Emmy's, I literally cried tears of happiness...what an extraordinary group...

  • this is my fave version :)

  • i love them singing this song!!! they are probably really sick of it tho lol

  • I'm a straight guy turning gay with these artist specially the first one who sang. LoL. Kidding. I just love the song... and they made it more likable, lovable actually.

  • mmmmmm they are yummy, this coming from a 21 year old girl, not sure how old they are, give me a guy who can sing and im yours

  • you are not the only straight guy these guys are amazing! My Boyfriend is a musician and he likes them too

  • i loved the last Hallelujah...

  • oh, so now I can't stop listening to this...

  • the best version of this yet; hands down, jim brickman on piano certainly didn't hurt.

  • My mother passed away 2 weeks ago and I was so moved. Although I still cry when I listen, I know my mother loves it when she hears me play the song. Thank God for talent like this that can make you truly believe.

  • the second guy in from the left is in she's the man! beautiful voices

  • You don't have to be gay to be moved by someting so beautiful. It's okay now.

  • You don't have to be gay to be moved by someting so beautiful. It's okay now.

  • I seen them on the emmys , and fell in love with them and there music, iam going to go buy there CD

  • There singing is so beutiful I could listent to them and not get tired of them.hope to see them in WINDSOR this Dec.Great performance on the emmys helps to calm me My husband passed away 2 yrs ago when I get down and lonely I listen to them AND IT SEEMS TO HELP ALOT keep up the good work. • The performance on the emmy's calmed my spirit. I have never paid much attention to this song before but, these guys are amazing. Absolutely beautiful voices.

  • When it went on the emmys I cried

  • I think I'm aboot to cry.

  • Absolutely stunning! My new obsession I believe :)

  • the two in the middle are my favorites. a little higher than the other two + perfect clarity + perfect control of pitch/volume/tempo

  • The Canadian Tenors!! The Canadian Tenors!! Rhe Canadian Tenors!!!!!

  • I consider myself a TRUE AUDIOPHILE, listening to and loving music from the 1900'sto present day. This may be THE SINGLE BEST RENDITION OF THIS SONG EVER! Many have tried, but these 4 Men SUCCEED!

ALL HAIL THE STRAIGHT MAN LISTENING, DO NOT EVER QUESTION BEAUTY, JUST LOVE IT!

  • I consider myself a TRUE AUDIOPHILE, listening to and loving music from the 1900'sto present day. This may be THE SINGLE BEST RENDITION OF THIS SONG EVER! Many have tried, but these 4 Men SUCCEED!

  • Amazing. Just brilliant.

  • this is incredible.

  • Beautiful.

"Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground."

    ~ Theodore Roosevelt

  • all i have to say is HOT!!!

  • Truly Beautiful♥♥ God Bless

  • They did it great at the EMMY's too....

  • Amazing in every way. Lifts me to the Throne of Grace. All about King David the Psalmist who fell away from his God and how David came back. A bit broken, far from perfect, but still singing Hallelujah to the King of Kings. Hallelujah!

  • Saw this on the Emmy's - absolutely beautiful!!!!

  • how do you not like this????

  • there should be a love button <3

  • Had never heard of these guys until the Emmy Awards last night. To hear them singing a song I've LOVED for years was AMAZING!

  • Just beautiful!

  • almost cried. First time I have ever heard them.

  • I cried when they sang at the emmys.....this was so beautiful.

    How could anyone dislike this!??!?!?!?!

  • @ParachuteRoses I also cried..like a baby Lol

  • @ParachuteRoses People who dislike this are those who prefer to listen to fake autotuned music, like Bieber, Ke$ha, the Jonas Brothers, and other complete shit like that. Don't stunt any of those people.

  • @MrAlexH1991 i agree with you, but justin beiber and the jonas brother arent auto tuned. i dont like them that much but they do actually have talent...

  • @Loyalweger Then I'll admit they know how to sing, but not how to make or reenact good music correctly. That's just my opinion, however.

  • @ParachuteRoses 24 people have no soul

  • @ParachuteRoses Well I could do it, cause they are so much better performens, like the one of the Il Divo. But I respect every performance of this song, cause the song is beautiful by it self.

  • I'm not sure how to say this, but as a straight guy and for hearing this song for the first time, I shed a tear.. What a coincidence that the last time I shed a tear was while watching the movie Titanic and Celine Dion's Titanic song came on. So much heart to this song.. Pure heart! Hey boyz keep it up and continue to make us Canadians Proud!!

  • They got this perfect, sounds beautiful

  • I kinda agree, quite Possibly, the BEST ever, rendition of this remarkable song !!! I cant stop listening to it !! Amazing !!

  • wow !!!!!!!!! just Awsome!!

  • kinda just fell in love with clifton.

  • What a great performance at the 2011 Emmy's!

  • It was a great performace. I have checked on line for other versions and I find the Canadian Tenors' to be the best. It has depth and sincerity. Very moving.

  • Ok why the hell is this a your gay if you listen to this, fuck off because,if you knew anything about groups and how they are suppose to sound good then you should understand the reason you like it is because of their voices, they are amazing all tenors no falsetto, bass, soprano, just amazing tenors. I just wished people would grow up and mind their own damn busines and i dont really do this on youtube much. Be who you are and not a judgamental ahole.

  • Love is a cold and broken hallelujah

  • i like the part when they say hallelujah ;)

  • I get the chills every time I listen to this

  • I usually listen to drake and wiz khalifa, but this is beautiful.

  • awesome!

  • i sang with these guys.... just sayin

  • BUT ALL CANADIAN? I doubt it.

  • @4260laurel Are you doubting that Canadians have talent? Very Naive statement.

  • I am proud to be Canadian, beautiful song, now these are real men.

  • I responded already to a comment on this thread. I have to expand a little to those who question the spirituality of the song. My words are not original. The song is one of the most spiritual prayers I've ever heard. Your heart knows it when you hear it, but if you haven't studied Christianity it may confuse you. Written by Canadien Leonard Cohen. The ultimate love gone bad song. Minor fall, major lift- a metaphore for daily struggles, reinforced by faith...that we question ocassionally.

  • @chardage I agree...this is the most beautiful prayer and gets me every time I hear these guys sing it

  • sooooo amazingly good!!! My new favorite boy band!!!! So HOT too!!!! :)

  • i just got finished singing with these guys :D it was awesome we sang this song to!

  • i just got finished singing with these guys :D it was awesome

  • I believe, too, that there is a need of amendment on the lyrics... the guys were amazing and there's no doubt about that.... the song must be spiritually inclined, for God's sake...

  • @eglretrac It's about maintaining faith in God through a bad human relationship....the realization that those you love here may not see the same beauty walking with God as you do...and trying to reconcile that.

  • i get to sing with these guys tomorrow :D so excited

  • please tell me im not the only (straight) guy listening and enjoying this

  • @Weasel1282 You're not I think they're damn good.

  • @Weasel1282 no. lol

  • @Weasel1282 I am gay, but I guess you are not the only one ^^

  • @Weasel1282 your not, they sound awesome.

  • @Weasel1282 Im straight as an arrow and loving this!

  • @Weasel1282 haha I´m with you man. its so epic. got some real power in it!

  • @Weasel1282 man I was just thinking the exact same thing, then I saw your post lol

  • @Weasel1282 man I was just thinking the exact same thing, then I saw your post lol

  • @Weasel1282 I love this song and I want my band to do it so bad but we're afraid if we do we'll be labeled Christian and we don't want that :(

  • @JBertolozzi hey am a muslim but enjoys this song. its not about being labeled but about being confident with the song. as long we have strong faith on what we believe in, it doesn't matter what people wants to say about us. for me, i still have to sing it cause of choir so for me i guess and feel that it doesn't matter at all. peace(Y) bro!

  • @JBertolozzi It's a beautiful song, I think people will love it if you do it justice.

  • damn it, they look hot!

  • This is the most boring version of this song that I have ever heard, it feels way too sleepy..

It was meant to be sung with a lot of attitude and unique vocal character... But this is much too way plain and slow.

Do your research guys to check it out.

  • God Bless us all!

  • I'm PROUD to be Canadian!!!

  • Is that Jim Brickman on the piano!??!??!

  • How does someone not like this? :o

  • i don't really agree. The first verse was about David singing to God and the second was about Samson and Delilah you can tel by 'cut your hair ' but that's just what i thought

  • They sing beautiful, too bad the lyrics of this song don't make sense

  • @ArkoMusicK - Totally agree with your assessment. Fantastic voices, "she tied you to a kitchen chair" - what's up with that? I was disappointed to see (and hear) that this song with not about spiritual faith at all and the word "ya" is NOT an acceptable term for "you"!

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The amount of good singers us Canadians have makes up for the one terrible one! Love this song and love the Tenors!
