Been replacing my VHS tapes with DVDs or Blu-Ray for years. I even got a recorder to record my tapes over to DVD. At one time, I had 1400 VHS tapes. Now, I am down to 11. These 11 are home movies & even though I transferred them already to DVD, I am holding onto them, just in case.
I still use VHS myself. Still have 4 VHS Players from way back unopened which should take me up till I die. Still have over 7000 VHSs in my colelction so I should be entertained.
i bet in 10 years they will go right back to vhs because i have had my vhs movies some for 25 years i don't know of any dvd that will ever last that long does anyone know where or how i can get these vincent price comericals on vhs tape
LOL!!! I love this one....we have 6 VCR's and they all work, also we have this very same head cleaner for them all too!! We Have a huge collection of VHS tapes(bought out a old VHS rental stores tapes that was going out of business )We rarely watch TV except for news anymore.
Back in the old days with VHS, I used to clean my VCR's heads using Q-Tips and 99% Rubbing Alcohol. It did a better job than a VHS Head Cleaning Tape. I would simply clean the heads and I would leave the VCR alone for 15 - 20 minutes so the Rubbing Alcohol would completely dry.
I also had a LaserDisc player, LaserDisc was alot better than VHS.
The standard grade ones, like the one depicted, were not all that great, as I recall. They had a "high-grade" line that, despite being a little heavy on the dropouts at times, was pretty good.
the george carlin ones better

I still use VHS tapes because we have a DVD/VCR player. My mom used to buy a ton of VHS tapes, so why not still use them?

@mavivirgie No, VHS actually smells good, literally. And it's a bad source of fiber.

@PinkSilverWolf same here :3 . heck, my main VHS deck is 25+ years old and still running like new!
Of course, when I need high-quality audio, I'll use my HiFii deck from the 90's

@PinkSilverWolf Press stop. Insert newer analogue tape, more expensive one.

@PinkSilverWolf It takes up too much space unfortunately.

@PinkSilverWolf I'd still use my VCR today, if the stuff on T.V. was actually good,
