  • Elton Britt was from Marshall AR. I was a child when the war was going on. I remember this song so well. I still love it.

  • I remmember hearing this song many many times during world war II. When I was out playing, I would often hear it playing on a neighbors radio. Every time I hear it now it brings back memories of how our country was then--united to win. It seemed like everyone had a relative or friend in the service. We had a gold starr in our window for my older brother, Thurman Wilbur Price, Jr, killed in action 3 Nov. 1942 on Guadalcanal.
