  • I grew up in Franklin. Graduated from Battle Ground Academy. You've got a good idea there, keep it going. My great great uncle fought at Thompson Station. "D" Co., 10th Tennessee Cavalry Reg't. Thrown from his horse during the battle. Later captured at Franklin recruiting men. Exchanged 18 months later at Pt. Lookout, Md. Joined 13th (Dibbrell's) Tennessee Cavalry in NC. He was captured and paroled at Washington, Ga. 9May65. He died in 1921 at the Tenn Confederate Soldier's Home (Hermitage).
