I learned how to be a boss at snipeing when one day i joined a pro sniper sever by mistake. they said i would fail, and i did. trial and error, they showed me a few tricks, so good set ups, and at one point began picking the admin off. a shame that server is gone.

for sniper don't use machine cuz it shoots out a tracer so u and ur oppent can c it

@thesniper8121 If you use the Machina, you charge faster and do more damage, plus if you're fully charged you can do collateral damage. Yes the tracer is there, but the tracer isn't terrible, it's only visible for about 3 seconds. And all you need is 1 well placed shot and they're dead.

@jhvids99 Never be scared of spies or other snipers, always try to keep moving, never stop. They won't get to you if you just keep strafing and stuff.

@jhvids99 sniper milestone 3 ach...Then ur spy troubles will vanish...u'll figure out why...Then practice strafing and keeping u'r cross-air at head level. That should help with snipers. New game into capture the flag and get on a random 2fort map. Practice sniping there. Start out with a full charge before you show your face..keep cross-airs on body level then shoot. Then move up to head level. stay on the level..straf...time ur shot but be quick and shoot. Learn "pathing" also(look it up).

@TheUnseen97 That first bit of advice is somewhat unreliable as Razorback is a horrid weapon, Especially with Enforcer and Ambassador around, it is really a crutch for those who camp and those who are too lazy to watch their own backs. Jarate benefits the team more and SMG with a good aim and a No Scope finish is a good counter to classes such as Scout and Pyro. 2Fort is a awful place to snipe as it does not benefit team, and you never mentioned crouching.

@vivhero Razor is somewhat reliable. That 1sec you spend after "watching your back" is all the spy needs to uncloak and stab when you return to scoping. Jarate is decent. SMG and no scope is pointless against pyros since they have 175 health and no scope only does 50dmg PerBoltAction. And chances are if you have to resort to no scope against a full HP pyro who is more than likely up your ass, then more than likely you're dead in 2sec. No scope is only good against scouts if you get head...(cont)

@vivhero I mentioned 2Fort as a place to learn getting shots on target, against jumping scouts, moving/strafing opponents and snipers who are likely better so you can also learn from them. Crouching is almost completely useless. Snipers depend heavily on survivability. They are just like mages in WoW. Burst dmg but low survivability. Crouch takes forever to get out of and run away as compared to just strafing and shooting. It's only good against other snipers who already know you are there.

@TheUnseen97 Here is the thing about 2fort, while yes it teaches aim, it also teaches bad habits. Getting in Sniper Duels constantly is an easy way to be deemed a useless Sniper. If you encounter the enemy sniper face to face, you either stayed in one spot too long or made your presence obvious, and that is entirely the point of crouching, to counter other Snipers when you are stuck being engaged in a duel. It makes them take extra time.

But actually, if you quick scope you have a less change to hit that heavy, as compared to if you wait and line up your shot correctly you will almost always one shot him. Also, if you do 2 quickscopes the heavy might just run away and you wouldn't be able to get your second shot off.

I really love sniper in other games.And no i dont mean quickscoping only.But in tf2 i really liked the headshot and charged shot system.But the lag compensation really sucks.And also i fucking hate how after i fire the scope remains for 1 second more.Ofc lag compensation can go in your favor also but meh.I was a pretty good sniper in other games but here i just cant do it lol.I have some good moments but generally i aint that much credit to team.

@Kopinater99 Best sniper rifle. Period. The ability to mark people for death on any hit, and doing more damage with it due to the faster charge up is definitely worth the inability to headshot. Headshots on not-so-open maps are hard to get, and even if you do, you'd help your team lots more if you simply cover the lot of them in piss.

I love Sniping in any war game because it takes more skill than just holding down the trigger of a machine gun and spamming the trigger. It also gives you an extreme advantage when you master sniping.

Tf2 says the mouse sensitivity limit is 6 yet it remains that 20 is the limit. You must type it in as the bar,only goes to 6. I use 10 with raw input and it gives me good results.

A tip for sniping in all games that ive found works, is i usually walk into the shots more. Like in this id walk the crosshairs onto them for the most part, not use the mouse.

I've never played TF2 before, but is sniping particularly hard in this game? it doesn't really look like it... does your accuracy ever waver? cuz it kinda looks like ur shot will go rite where u point it no matter what... Im guessing its not a 1 hit kill though...

@nameno1elsehas noscopes will always hit the target, but they do less damage. you have to stay scoped in to +% damage. Headshots are 3x damage - which are insanely hard to hit on good players. If you dont headshot as a sniper - you're doing it all wrong.

If you don't go for that bodyshot on a medic that you would kill with a bodyshot and instead try to get headshot no matter what and lose that round because he got a chance to deploy his über, you're doing it all wrong
