@nancouli100 I looked in to that before, he was supposed to play Robins boyfriend in this season. But i read that he got some new contract in a series so he couldn't play in HIMYM. Instead Kal Penn played Robins boyfriend Kevin this season. So i don't think that guy you are talking about will come back..
@nancouli100 I dont think that Robin and Barney ever will get married. Robin and Barney were great but Robin can't have children and Ted said she never became a mother (not even adoption) however Barney on the other hand wanted children because of the one episode where he considered settling down and having a family. Also, Barney has to be a father at some point because Jerome never was a good father to Barney and Barney might feel obligated to give Jerome a grandchild and be there for his child
@laoboi723 Just because a person expresses a desire for children, doesn't mean they can't live without them. I think Barney's perfectly capable of deciding that kids or not, he loves Robin and doesn't need kids to be happy with her. His wish for kids seems to be more about wanting someone to love than really needing to be a father. Hell, Robin herself was wistful about having kids, but if she really wanted them that badly she could've adopted. They'd still be a great Aunt and Uncle :)

I can say this much about the kids calling everyone aunt & uncle, when growing up i called a lot of ppl aunt & uncle even though they weren't ever related to anyone in my family.... it was out of respect and their friendship to my mom and dad! As for the yellow umbrella ? i do believe the girl holding the umbrella in the beginning of the show holding the yellow umbrella is ted's wife!

its funny there was an episode where he not only runs into his wife they say its his wife. they say these things, it was a episode about how life choices are made. @tori23pigglet-along with what I had said earlier, Carly(Barney's half-sis)is in college and we have yet to meet her. The only thing is that I keep thinking that when Ted tricks his kids into thinking that the hooker is their mother he mentions the name Tracy...so if that is the mother's name then it's not Barney's half-sister. Then it would mean that it would have to be somebody Robin knows.
So let's recap this: Barney and Robin married, Ted marries Barney's half-sister which therefore makes Barney and Robin, Uncle Barney and Aunt Robin to Ted's children. Marshall and Lily on the otherhand...well that is a different story.

@strangerthanluv09 I seriously doubt Ted marries Barney's half-sister. He says he wouldn't have met her if he hadn't taken the professor job, but if she was Barney's half-sister, he would've easily met her whether or not he took the job. I think it's a red herring. And it's obvious all the Aunts and Uncles are supposed to be honorary. Of course, they might do it just as a twist...but they'd have to explain why Ted's professor job was so important to it.
As for Ted meeting his wife, she HAS to be related to Barney in some way because he meets her at that same wedding, if you pay attention closely to the outfits that Ted, Marshall and Barney are all wearing in episodes Big Days, Challenge Accepted, and The Best Man you can tell that it's obvious that Ted meets the mother at Barney and Robin's wedding. There is a very good chance that it IS Barney's half-sister.
So Barney and Robin are getting married. So Ted doesn't want to screw up the speech at Barney and Robin's wedding. And as it is stated in episodes before...Ted is Barney's best friend so initially he would be the best man...in False Positive at the end Robin asks Ted to be her best man at her wedding when she gets married. SO in the episode Best Man at the end when Lily comes in Barney's room and tells Ted that the bride wants him the bride is Robin.
Everything starts out with Aunt Robin, he meets Robin. Dates her, breaks up with her, Barney hooks up her. Barney falls in love with her. When Barney and Robin break up it's because as they put it "there was too much awesome" in the relationship. As everybody SHOULD know, when marriage is brought up to Robin she immediately freaks out. When it was brought up between her and Barney it doesn't seem to phase her at all.
Story stats with Robin. Who Barney falls in love with. Which would make sense for why the story would happen there if he met him @ barneys wedding. It was the day that Ted met the girl that Barney would marry that would allow him to meet his half-sister who he would marry. That makes the story make sense and why he would start the story with meeting robin, robin would have to be instrumental in him meeting the mother or he would've started the story with when he met Barney. LAWYERED!

My theory...we know Ted's wife is the roommate of Rachel Bilson's character, and her character was in a 2nd esisode where she met a girl in the bar and they kiss. I think "the wedding" is theirs and Ted is the best man because he still friends with Rachel's character. And I do believe the (Nicole Muirbrook) who Ted bumped into in the bar in the St. Patrick's Day episode, is his wife - unless the writers/creators regret so many people figured it out, so they change it in the end.

Okay, new theory: At Barney's wedding, perhaps the band that plays there is the same band that Ted's future wife plays bass in. Cos remember in the season 5 episode "Girl's Versus Suits", that Cindy (the Mother's roommate) mentions that she (the Mother) is in a band? I love this show but the writers are making it up as they go along. The mother was supposed to be Victoria back in season 1 when the show looked like it was going to be cancelled. Bays and Carter have both said so.

I wouldn't put too much weight into the "Aunt Robin" thing. It doesn't automatically pertain to someone who is related by blood or by marriage. When I was little I called my mother's best friend "Aunt". We were in no way related to her but she was still "Aunt". Robin and Ted are close enough that it wouldn't surprise me if his kids called her "Aunt Robin"

As for Ted meeting his wife, she HAS to be related to Barney in some way because he meets her at that same wedding, if you pay attention closely to the outfits that Ted, Marshall and Barney are all wearing in episodes Big Days, Challenge Accepted, and The Best Man you can tell that it's obvious that Ted meets the mother at Barney and Robin's wedding. There is a very good chance that it IS Barney's half-sister.

And as it is stated in episodes before...Ted is Barney's best friend so initially he would be the best man...in False Positive at the end Robin asks Ted to be her best man at her wedding when she gets married. SO in the episode Best Man at the end when Lily comes in Barney's room and tells Ted that the bride wants him the bride is Robin.

Everything starts out with Aunt Robin, he meets Robin. Dates her, breaks up with her, Barney hooks up her. Barney falls in love with her. When Barney and Robin break up it's because as they put it "there was too much awesome" in the relationship. As everybody SHOULD know, when marriage is brought up to Robin she immediately freaks out. When it was brought up between her and Barney it doesn't seem to phase her at all.

It was the day that Ted met the girl that Barney would marry that would allow him to meet his half-sister who he would marry. My theory...we know Ted's wife is the roommate of Rachel Bilson's character, and her character was in a 2nd esisode where she met a girl in the bar and they kiss. I think "the wedding" is theirs and Ted is the best man because he still friends with Rachel's character. And I do believe the (Nicole Muirbrook) who Ted bumped into in the bar in the St. Patrick's Day episode, is his wife - unless the writers/creators regret so many people figured it out, so they change it in the end.

I wouldn't put too much weight into the "Aunt Robin" thing. It doesn't automatically pertain to someone who is related by blood or by marriage. When I was little I called my mother's best friend "Aunt". We were in no way related to her but she was still "Aunt". Robin and Ted are close enough that it wouldn't surprise me if his kids called her "Aunt Robin"
