  • This version isn't just "Dixie", it also includes the accursed Yankees' "Battle Hymn of the Republic". This version also reminds me of one played by the Pride of the South, the Ole Miss marching band.

These same Yankees who carried out the War of Northern Aggression.

  • awesome

  • Alabama, Heart of Dixie <3

  • it pisses me off that we cant be proud of what we stand for anymore...rules and regluations WILL NOT PREHIBIT me from being proud of where i came from or what i am..

  • Powerfull and beautiful from France .

  • This is beautiful. Every southern school should play this at least once. I am proud to say, American Born, SOUTHERN BY THE GRACE OF GOD! If you think this is racist YOU have issues. This is nothing but a song about being proud to be a southerner.

  • Me and my black friend next to me is sitting here singing about our homeland, so if any of you guys think this shit is racist, you can kiss our asses.

  • @OkieConservative there isn't a single racist or hateful word in Dixie. Anybody can read the lyrics. its simply about love of home and heritage and culture.

  • @hungarygator got to say you are correct.

  • I don't know about the rest of you but I stand when I hear Dixie.

  • PapaJohn!! its a shame they quit playing this.. ~squib

  • Don't leave out NC, Dixie still runs strong always

  • "Three hundred thousand Yankees

    Is stiff in Southern dust;

    We got three hundred thousand

    Before they conquered us"

  • Keep waiting for that third republic.....

  • If this is the Old Miss band playing this, this is the best they have ever sounded! Good job!

  • Do they really have to rub it in with the battle hymn? I *hate* the battle hymn.

  • You guys know this song was written by a Yankee right? C'mon lets have some unity here!

  • @alienman909

Yea wishing he was a REBEL

  • HOTTY TODDY, GOSH OLE MIGHTY, THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN!!!

  • Why do people watch these videos just to comment with slurs about the south and its people, or to say that anything having to do with the south is racist? If you dont like the videos, then dont watch them. They are not racist, they show things from the southern part of the united states. Was Martin Luther King Jr a racist because he was born in Atlanta Georgia? Is Disney racist for having a theme park in Florida? Is Coca-cola racist for being headquartered in Georgia?

  • You got your fried food eating, slow talkiin, illiterate asses handed to you in the 1800's.

  • @lettheclubdothework

Yeah the North certainly kicked the South. Only about a hundred thousand more Northerners died. The northerners had such a mighty enemy though, you know those outnumbered farmers armed with their poor quality muskets. All those northerners had were factory-made rifles, better supply logistics, and a trained army twice as big. Way to kick Southern a**. :D

  • @lettheclubdothework

And your obama will give it to you now. Let's see how you like the loss of freedom. When you are out pigeon fishing just to feed your family that day you can thank your northern commies. This time around, you all can eat each other while we look to the Third Republic. Deo Vindice

  • @joesphx19 really obama.. ur gunna blame him instead of the the oil tycoon who started this facade of the war on terrorism. who drafted the bill and signed the law that shits on the constitution? ur gunna dog obama when bush is the one who destroyed the united states freedom. see past the skin and look at the actions. and yes i am a southern gentleman as well.

  • @MrChaosmage

And this from your profile page:

Occupation: exploring the mind through sexual deviant psycology. make no mistake lov its not revenge its the pain.

    You, are NO southern gentleman!

  • @MrChaosmage Which Obama we talking about? The one that just admitted that under his lack of leadership the United States is no longer a world power and that he does not have the capability to lead the world anyhow?

  • @MrChaosmage Buddy buddy buddy, Lincoln and FDR made more power grabs in a week than W did in his entire term. Lying war monger tyrants, seizure of personal property, etc

  • @lettheclubdothework haha you don't know your history 360,000 dead yankees only 260,000 dead confederates!

  • Where was Louisiana?

    From Dixie with Love...

    Geaux Tigers and Hotty Toddy

  • @allyramortlock it is ole miss marching band. you know drum corps too?? Carolina Crown 07/08 vet.

  • I love how they blended the battle hymn of the republic (typically known as a northern song) and dixie, which obviously represents the south. Quite a stirring representation of the unity we've achieved since the war.

  • Actually, the original song was "I wish I was in Dixie , then when the US invaded and the war started, Confederates came up with "To arms in Dixie.

  • If there is anyone who thinks this song is racist, think again because the words that were originally in this song in the confederacy were changed, the original words were a little offensive just listen to the song "To arms in dixie" which is the confederate song. the new song is just a regular patriotic song about the south. All in all ,GET THE HECK OVER IT!

  • buetiful

  • go rebs go dixie all the way keepn flying the flag

  • you know NC is dixie too right dude

  • (SNIFF!!) This brought tears to me eyes . :)

    THANK YOU!!!!!

  • Awesome

  • Did everyone in the band get a "A" or an "A+".?

  • The very name of the NAACP tells me who they are pulling for.

  • You know to some white people (like me) the NAACP is racist, also the black college scholarship.

  • @neospeardude

I don't care if you're white or black, it is racist. Damn liberals. they are hypocrits, "Discrimination is bad, so because we are black we will unify" still discriminates "Because blacks were oppressed, we will get scholarships to help us advance, oh... you're white, you cannot get it!" Racist to the core! It wasn't I or my family who put you or your family on ships, maybe our ancestors did, so why should u reap any benifits off them! And why should I pay for the sins of mine?

  • sounds like you dont understand history

  • @neospeardude agree 100% we (whites) dont have an association to help us advance, NAACP is the most racist organization there is, they dont want anyone but black people

  • God I love this song!!! Play it everyday before raising the flag.

  • why is the song battle hymn of the republic in Dixie?

  • because it sounds good.

  • This is a great song, done by a great band, LLTS

  • What a wonderful piece of music. Just enjoy this for the music's sake.

  • SRSwitchBLADE4D3;

This is supposed to be a pep song for a college, nothing racial about it, unless, OF COURSE, you want to see racism in the message, and then that would make you somewhat racist.

  • save your flag boys we shall rise again

  • my great great great great great great great great great great great great uncle is jefferson davis

  • thats almost 1000 yrs of great. the war wasnt that long ago. give an avarge of almost 60 years a great and u still too far off

  • @MrChaosmage i don't get it

  • it was in response to wasntmemrbond007. he sais his great x 6 uncle was jefferson davis that means that 6 generations of uncles. that too many generations.

  • FUCK OFF

  • no matter what our kin are being taught and fed about the south i will always proudly grasp my flag and my heart will live below the dixon line

  • Good rendition..Dixie & Battle Hymn!

  • we will be a country again keep flying the flag boys freedom for the south.deo vindice

  • Beautiful orchestra. let the rebel flag fly like the wind. long live dixie, we will rise again!

  • WHOO!! Go Bama!! THE HEART OF DIXIE!!!

  • OBAMA will NEVER take away my guns. You can take me out of DIXIE, but you can NEVER take the DIXIE out of me!

    From Alabama's greatest AUBURN TIGER

  • fantastic ty keep flying the flag boys long live the CSA

  • Beautiful song... always makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up! Hotty Toddy!

  • Beautiful! Just Beautiful!

  • Love IT...They banned Appalachian from playing Dixie when we scored way before I attended as a freshman in 1986..what a shame. Yes they are rival songs but both beautiful songs. I was merely looking for a good version of Dixie...slow and soulful, but this was beautiful.

  • Your right, look at North Korea, North Vietnam. See any difference?

  • You are correct in your thinking put there is a difference in a way we carry ourselves in the south. One of them is being courteous because we wouldn't give bad comments on videos we didn't like. We would just ignore it and never watch it again.

  • I never said I didn't like the video, on the contrary I very much like the video. I was simply expressing my disagreement with certain people who commented on the video, rather than the video itself.

  • The people of the South and the People of the North are different cultures and deserve separate counties

  • suck my balls pem

  • pem...oh shush...Yankee bastard...shush your face...dem Yankees came down and did a lot of harm to Atlanta...Damn Yankee...

  • pem440: great comment! Go fuck yourself! YANKEE queer - this is my American heritage. If I raise the stars & bars and the St Tim's cross - Your Pal from NC - Sean E Lee.

  • Why do you have "Dixie" and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" in the same video. They are rival songs.

  • LOVE IT!!

  • From the rough and tumble outskirts of Texas...thanks for this video and song. God Bless!

  • Thanks for this video and song! God Bless...

  • is this the song "whistling dixie" comes from

  • Thank God I was born in Dixie. They can malign the song, but they can't take the soul out of Her.

  • I first came to know about Ole Miss during my Marine Corps days, 1967-1971 and became so enamored with the University that in 1993 my son went there for his undergrad degree. And yes, I'm from the land of ice and snow, but that doesn't mean that I didn't come under the spell of the South. Most of my Marine friends were from below the Potomac and east of the mighty Mississippi.

  • Bout brings tears to this Georgia Boy. God Bless the South. Koudos to Ole Miss for still playing this blessed song.

  • Great song & video but lets not forget that Dixie extents beyond the SEC border - i.e. SC, NC & VA (love the vid but as a son of VA living in NC - about 8 miles from SC - you have to give us some credit, Sir!).

  • yeah both of the Carolinas should definatley be higlighted

  • sweatingbullets56: God bless ya' Sir. And God bless Dixie!

  • i was reborn in statesville, nc, march 96 to the beauty and goodness of the southern people and DIXIE,,,,,,,LET'S HANG THE WALL STREET BANKERS FROM A SOUR APPLE TREE!

  • The South really belonged to the Creek and the Cherokee Indians.

  • Not just those ones...sheesh..

  • what is sad about the north is that the Washington D.C. is not a state and they should be we would have 51 states

  • this also has the battle hymn of the repubic on it.The Norths battle song.

  • nice vid born in the north but southern at heart i love the south

  • hoddy toddy! nice video but you left out 9 of the southern states in your intro!!

  • Nope, only seven. 13 stars but only 11 states.

  • I beg to differ. Both Missouri and Kentucky were voted into the Confederacy even though they did not officially secede. In the case of Missouri the sitting Governor at the time of the war was pro-Confederate and fled with the state seal.

  • You can biffer all you want but you're wrong. These states, though they harbored a great deal of southern sentiment, DID NOT secede. In fact many states help pro-southern views but remained within the Union. Look in a history book.

  • Thanks for your opinion. I see no point in having a battle of wits with an unarmed man. I'll post no further comments.

  • Thank you for being so understanding

  • i take my stand to live or die in dixie

  • Who is playing this? This is beautiful. I have just listened to several clips of the Ole Miss Band playing and it sounded awful. Is this still Ole Miss playing or some other group?

  • this is ole miss

  • this video should be named patriotic melody.the battle hymn of the repulic is mixed in with dixie.

  • Mississipi # 1

  • Hell Yeah

  • To live and die in DIXIE...
