@Bellatrixy1 Wasn't created Yet! I guess you haven't haven't watched much of The Muppet Show then or the original classic Muppet movies. RIP Jim Henson. This is one of the last things he worked on. He died just days after this aired.

Steve Whitmire, who performs Bean Bunny in this tv special, reluctantly took on the role of performing Kermit after Jim Henson's passing. I feel, he's carried the torch rather well, considering he's had some large flippers to fill. ^_^

this is technically not a Muppet movie. This is a Muppet TV special only shown on TV. now i dont know if you did buy this as a VHS tape or someone recorded it off of the TV onto a VHS tape but nonetheless it was originally a TV special. thank you for uploading this so i can show my boyfriend. thank you very much

he never signed look it up if he had we'd see muppets of some sort on disney channel duh. i still recall being a 4 in half yr old girl and news clips talking about disscion between them never once was a deal metioned they from impresion i got were still in discusion when jim died and i've looked it up nd not found shred of evidence saying disney owns muppets. mr smarty pants you got some wrong info

@majormana1 There are 2 sites called Google and Wikipedia that could help you out. The original Disney/Muppet deal set to be completed in the early `90s fell through after Jim's death and legal issues between the Henson family and Disney, but this special was meant to be the first evidence of their new partnership. After being family owned and then sold to a German company and then back to the Hensons, the Hensons finally sold the Muppet Show muppets to Disney a few years ago.

@ztslovebird Since I don't work for Disney, I can't answer you. I guess, though, that it's because Hannah Montana generates millions, and the Muppets haven't had a hit film or show in 15 years. I wasn't thrilled that Disney took over, either, but to be fair, they've exposed the Muppets more on YouTube, guest spots, comics and merc, in the last few years than the Hensons and Em.TV did over a decade. There's a feature film in development for the first time in a decade- what more can they be doing?

@PhaedrusNYC Well, for starters, they could put the Muppet Show back on the air! Then they could call the guys who worked with the Muppets last and/or the Sesame Street team and ask if anyone is interested in creating/performing in a new show with the Muppets. Auditions will have to follow suit, but since Muppeteering is a very specific art that only a few people have mastered, the cast will probably be based on the originals' proteges. A movie deal or three will quickly follow after a season.

i'd like to know where you found that information b/c Jim was very vocal about his desire to have the muppets live on in disney long after he was gone, but also so he could continue with his other projects. While I know there was a lot of back and forth regarding the terms of their deal he was very much interested, and whitmire has said Frank told him jim was looking for him to take over (not in case of death, but to free him up) Disney owns most muppets now (not sesame)

I met Jim Henson the Day they filmed at the Tea Cups. I was a huge fan and felt so lucky to have run into him by chance when going into work early that morning in the Magic Kingdom. I was in total shock just a short time after that day to hear of his death. I miss him but thankfully Kermit and the Muppets will never die.

Yes, the only thing he did that was released after this was the actual Muppet 3D movie that shows at the Disney Parks. I'm glad they worked out a deal, it kind of insured that the Muppets would always be around.

There's a little mistake at the begining of the opening credits. The Muppets' feet. It goes Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Beauregard, Animal, Miss Piggy, & Floyd. But when they're all talking, it goes Kermit, Floyd, Robin, Janice, Rowlf, Link, Bunsen, Beaker, Fozzie's Mother, Fozzie, Miss Piggy, Beauregard, Gonzo, & Camilla. See the mistake?

Disney has dropped the ball on muppets. I know Jim was in talks at multiple times with disney.. liked the idea of them becoming part of that family in some capacity, but i don't think he'd approve of how what the muppets have become.. a mere novelty group as opposed to carrying on of the magic they these were real people despite seeing the rods.

I hope Edwards and Segel can get the new generation believing with the same furver

I wouldn't call this the best of the rare henson films, (this was made only for TV) but i will say it's still great to watch and especially touching that it was one of henson's last times singing rainbow connection

Can't wait to see what Segel does with the muppets.. for the first time i really feel like someone understands what must be done for the muppets dream to stay alive

By chance, the high-school marching band I was in at the time was at Disney/Epcot while parts of this classic feature(including the opening swamp number) were being rehearsed/filmed....

I still remember seeing the puppeteers working with their characters while the opening swamp number...was something I'll never forget either...glad to see SOMEONE has it up here! :)
