boimasa is close, but "sukiyaki" is actually a Japanese dish usually made from beef. It is none for its ease of preparation and low cost -- essentially, it's famous because it is cheap and easy to make. The original Japanese version was named after it because it was easy for English speakers to say and remember, and was "distinctly Japanese."
