my birthmark covers my right arm shoulder blader and right chest(causing my lung to be bigger) ive seen about 6 different doctors. it turn purple when im cold(which fun) its normal when people ask whats wrong with my arm. i dont cover it up, i let it show.

I have one large birthmark on the right-side of my face...it even covers my right eye, my friends think it was cool because from afar my right eye looks like it has black spots, I never did think of removing it even though many people stare at me because it makes me unique and it just looks like a large dark stain but it never did affect the features of my face

anyone know of options for removing either cafe au laut or Mongolian spot birtharks? Which procedures have the best success and how much do they cost? is there ways to get paid for by grants or free? And of you have had these removed? Contact me. Thanks.

I know a guy who has one on his face, thing is, he's a handsome guy. He's had more pretty women on his arm than I have. Doesn't seem to get in his way.

I have one, its on my left pinky, its pretty fucking gross cause its big and brown and it takes over half my pinky, and my school decided 2 give me the name "herpie finger" but its me =)

I love my birthmark. People ask me why I don't have surgery to get rid of it, but I just don't want to. I couldn't imagine living without it. It's part of who I am and I just don't care if they don't like it cos I do :)

its from the parents -one or both. so is acne. nf. fat people got a gene from there parents. they have know this for years. its in the genes. i had bad acne. my parents never had it. i know how these kids feel. you can have 6 kids and one mite have- a birthmark a bad one. acne -nf- y i dont know . life is unfair for some.

@peteboy1113 fortunately technology is making more solutions available to those that have been born with birthmarks that are of a cosmetic concern.. It seems that laser treatment is currently one of the top tech options for treating birthmark removal.f I suppose gene therapy will be used to assist in making corrections to skin lesions/birthmarks.

also, to laugh with it, i compared myself after a treatment with those sf girls, there were a few programs in the past where girls had also purple dots on there forehead. ;p try to keep on smiling ^^

have a funny comment to put in about my birthmark... i had it once that people admired it... i want to get rid of it, but since treatments doesn't work anymore, i see it as a part from myself. a part also that makes me special... well i'm special apart from the thing, i'm not typically mainstream either. once after a treatment my portwinestain was all with purple dots and i ran into 2 punks who had well, burn marks as a tattoo over their arms and face... they were like: wauuw, i want that too :)

i have a birthmark on my right side of my face..frens call me two face..kinda cool..some say my birthmark is like a brown fire..hmm..but its kinda weird my birthmark is alive..its light chocolate colour but it fades abit and sometimes it cannot be seen at all arnd mid junes till dec and when comes to my birthday april..it really come out..haha..but im ok with it..

@09wati90 it is interesting that some animals can vary the amount of blood flow to the skin to change color. I wonder if some people with port wine have a little bit of those genes in them that gives the a touch of ability to vary their skin color for either use as camouflage or to communicate feelings, like squids and chameleons, and other animals.

i have a birth mark in my face (i'm a girl), and i have the sturge(r)-webersyndrome.I am a nurse in general hospital now, and in januar i'm hoping to have my degree as bachelor nurse in psychiatry.i also have glaucoma since i was 12. I've had several lasertreatments (in the beginning it worked well,but stopped after 25 treatments,coz there was no progression any more). I also had 19 surgical operations, for my glaucoma, but after that i stopped going to the doctor. Pls contact me if u want too.

well i dont know were to start having a red birthmark on half your face, for 52 years, i guess its time to say something for one society does cast you out you are stare at when you are young and ignored when you are older i wonder if 1 in 30,000 people are like me, then were are they, i am very outgoing and never seen them as you get older, doors close and you fight to keep your self sane everybody wonders why your so... i say - walk in my shoes, u will c

If you want to meet other people with birthmarks, then I suggest you join the Birthmark support group- it's interesting just to meet other's with birthmarks. I've managed to meet loads of people with birthmarks and it's really encouraging. I'm 14 years old now and although I've had stares, I'm living my life just like a normal person and I think I always will- society has never cast me out! :)

at 14 society will actually open doors for you

most birthmark people wont even look at each other. i dont know why, i guess, its like seeing yourself in real life and thats odd

its not easy to explain. lets just say, we all know that looks take you far. and this is the opposite

i was lookin at tht y did it get cut off iv got birthmarks all over my body all spaced out and it gets me up set some times i have skin graths bt im always guna av ppl say stuf it part of life whtu gotta live with
