  • Love Marc, always did, always will ...but cant help noticing that he looks like a 'Tranny' in this video !! - Trannysaurus rex ?! - By the way i met him a couple of days after this appearance, and he still had the same shirt on! - Its just been sold at Christies too !! ( New York)

  • @MRROBBIEWATTS the whole era would be known as Glam lol not Trannyvision :)

  • Definitely 'glammed' up drivel. He must've been stoned to sign off on this!

  • Damn! Sigourney Weaver is rockin' that Strat!!

(just kidding...Marc Bolan was and still is amazing....)

  • Remembering Marc 34 years ago today TANX FOR THE GREAT MUSIC

  • This is one of my favourite T.Rex tracks..along with Dreamy Lady

  • WEAK, VERY WEAK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he's done so much better, you know it admit it , ok now do 10 inverted push ups while saying "i admit it" in cantonese dialect. uh uh uh that was only 9 don't cheat

  • @reverendjimj The song is supposed to be absurd, Think along the lines of Beatles "Yellow Submarine." Its also infectious and fun with a classic Bolan boogie riff.

  • Was he gay?? I think he wasn't!!. It seems it was just his style...

  • "ill-fated mini"......sounds like a Bolan song!

never saw this. thanks for posting!

  • Many groups have their Yoko, don't they?

  • !!!!!!!

  • Did his girlfriend replace his best friend, the one who played bongos?

  • @dianebozo This was the first single released after Mickey Finn ("the bongo player") left T.REX. From a musical perspective Marc'n'Mickey were more important than Marc & Gloria. Mickey Finn wasn't as skilled a percussionist as his predecessor Steve Took, but he was a huge part of the image of the classic T.REX line up.

  • Great wall of sound production! Saw them do it live in 76 and 77. Great days!

  • Saw these cats in Brisbane circa 1973--or whatever? WOW what a show alright Marc got real pooey when some banjo twanger grabbed his whipp from down stage front row at the old festival hall Brisbane long gone now - oh what a bitch alright yeeha

  • I think he looks awesome here. I seriously dig the hair.

  • @shatterdwing Who couldn't dig his amazing hair! Always looks awesome!

  • @classicrockfan555 It's a work of art in itself in fairness :)

  • @shatterdwing Too right!

  • I love Marc Bolan and T. Rex, but what's with all the makeup?

  • @rodentcafeteria Glam Rock. Almost every major pop star who was targeted teenage audiences during the mid 70s jumped on the glam bandwagon. Even older acts like The Stones were playing around with androgyny. American audiences were much less accepting of the glam movement than Europeans. Even today, US audiences tend to be really prudish and paranoid about sexuality and gender roles. That said, Bolan's booze and food induced weight gain made him look like a bloated drag queen at times

  • @ritter89 So what were all the 80's American hair bands copying then? Plenty of make up, less talent.

  • BOOGIE MIND POEMS RULE !!

  • This and Dreamy Lady are my favourite T.Rex tracks

  • i bought all t rex albums in the 70s but have to admit he started to look like a fat tranny, shame still love his old stuff anyway

  • MarcBolan described this song as "a boogie mind poem". I think the lyrics are amazing in their ridiculousness, which is why the song is so brilliant!! Genius!! :)

  • No words man!

    But! I'm posting anyway.

    Thanks.

    Cheesy.

  • my fav bolan track

  • the tubby tranny look was definitely not one of bolans best!

  • Must admit i do love this song...the original glam rock artist...RIP Mark. Super post retroj25

  • Marc Bolan wrote these lyrics because he saw his friend coming out of the airport with a toy "kermit the frog" in her hand. [ I read it somewhere]

  • what would he have done with 10 more years shame ?

  • Daftest lyrics ever!!

  • Great Song!! Miss you so much Marc

  • did you know him personally?

  • @mutamiltu

no, i did not, but he is my idol forever. He was great

  • @rexmania77 Marc Bolan bowled some of us over. I am glad to find him in 1970 or 1971. The album right before Electric Warrior, which did not really have a name, Just a brown cover and that great pic of him and Mickey.

Oh, he's so lovely! Sheer talent!

  • I was crazy about Marc until I saw this!!

  • just a wonderful piece of bolan genius!

  • My favorite t-rex song!
