  • Watched a dude catch 18-20 pounder 45 inches at the mouth of the Mayaka River/ Lemon Bay (Englewood Fla.) in 2008 at night off the pier on a 15 inch Lady fish. Man that was the biggest one I had ever seen caught.

  • Nice Capt!!!! Nothing beat South East Fl. for Snook!

  • @hank1972

Hank you are on the money on that one.

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • @captchancey Got a tip for you Capt, I live by the Newport Pier we used to use Lizard Fish free lined off to catch Snook. Rock on!

  • @hank1972

    Where is Newport pier?

  • @captchancey 163st Collins Ave. Sunny Isles in Miami Dade County.

  • Big Snooks are on fire down here.

  • nice engine

  • Great lookin' fish. I gotta send you guys a couple Impact snook lures. Shoot me an address and I'll hook it up. Ernie

  • @impactlures

    Hey Ernie,

What kind of lures do you have?

    Godspeed,

    Capt Ben

  • @captchancey I specialize in topwater wood plugs of all sizes. My most popular are the 3 and 4 inch walkers a poppers. We have had a lot of success with snook and trout on them. I can email you a color chart and description sheet. Ernie

  • That's so cool how the water is blue on the east coast with those snook. Used to catching them in the greener colored waters of the gulf.

  • iv never rod and reeled a snook bigger then 32 inches.

i hate to admit it but i have taken MANY 40+inch snook in the last 10 years at a special spot of mine , you see around 2-3am they start crusing down a speical sea wall i know of, all moving head to tail. there are always monsters in the group, i just single out the donger and drop my gig right on top of him. its too easy

its screwed up i know but they wont take bait or lures...its the only way. and its damn easy and effictive.

  • did u keep it??

  • does anyone know what rod he is useing?

  • this is about the first vid i've seen on youtube where someone says "hey look we caught it!" and then lets it go! good job :)

    regards

    Chris

  • Chris they really seem to like eddy's near strong moving current. Your rivers are fairly dirty near the mouths so you may want to soak a bigger bait on the bottom in an eddy area.

    God Speed,

    Capt Ben

  • come to rio san juan in Nicaragua tons of 15-20 lb. snook's i just went last jan. the best place is by greytown. you can also fish for sabalo real (tarpoon) average 300lb.

  • Hello friends, I wanted to know is the best bait for SNOOK, Which color you like best, to capture a GOOD FEET.

  • Capt Ben, we are fishing here in the Middle East, can you please suggest what is the best lure to use? Is Rapala Saltwater lures good for catching fish? By the way, we are fishing along creeks and banks. Thanks

  • Yes the Rapala lures are great for catching fish. Creek mouths are very productive when the tides are right.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • what is the record now for snook and where @ ........

  • 54 pounds caught in Costa Rica. We have seen bigger caught but they are unofficial.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben

  • Capt. Ben when do you think your next show will be and where is the best fishising spot out of them all????????

  • A new show should be out next week. I usually get some extra editing done when the cold fronts are coming through. As far as best spots, we are really blessed here.

    Regards,

    Capt Ben
