@anthony851 I am a operator ,the reason I gave the examples, theres also S series Terex scrapers ,Cat denotes twin engine scrapers with a 7 at the end of the numbers Terex uses the T prefix .. Twin engines are used to eliminate the push cat / dozer needed to load them unless it's hard clay ,then you need a push cat to fully load one or a hook & bail system where two or more scrapers aid each other loading, you need experienced operators and a straight cut to use the system..
Terex may build good scrapers; but every one they build is based on the old Euclid design. I wonder how many who watch and look at equipment like this, remember watching Twin-engined Ukes, digging and dumping, at speeds from 15mph to 30mph?
I remember those scrapers when the dike around Wichita, Kansas was built; and my dad used to be the one the company called when one broke down; as he was one of the few diesel mechanics in the area, who could rebuild those machines at the site.
@DerangedDragon99 Terex a division of General Motors bought Eculid out , the same happened to Le Turnue , it's now WABCO , Westeinghouse Air Brake Co.. Eculid used General motors engines and transmissions anyway....
Yay First comment. This is cool. Ive always loved Green Terex scrapers. It went away, now its time to appreciate them again. I have an old photo of me and my dad by two of these scrapers and other construction equipment. I was probably 7, or 8 yrs old at that time. I'll b 18 on november 11, 2011 which is cool because i cant wait for 11:11 Pm on the clock that day. 11/11/2011 @ 11:11 pm and 11 seconds. Lots of 11. WOW
