To further illustrate the "axis" point about Japan, my 9 yr old is right this moment in front of me playing his Wii versing people from Japan, Korea and China. Also, sorry I'm making a meal of this comment board...I get on a train of thought and like the Irish writers Joyce, Beckett, O'Brien simply have to follow the stream...(hence the 3 clever full stops...Louis Ferdinand Celine did that a lot too...a good technician, but he had dangerous politics...)
Looks as though you've been on quite a journey yourself. Nothing like finding yourself lost in someplace strange compared to the place outwardly thought of as home. I wouldn't mind dying in some place remote from here. Japan is on a sort of axis with Australia. There's a geographical, chronological, even spiritual link. When I'm on YT at a certain time I find Japanes people on then too. Like that connection. Nice song. Bit melancholy but melancholy's beautiful when honest expressision like this.
@anonplace Know you're being tongue in cheek sort of...funny though 'cause NZ calls its green self Godzone and Australia has some kind of similar self styled monniker too (definitely no logic to that one though:-(I We've both been to Israel and it has the longest standing title of course. Parts of that country fill my mind with wonder and awe. I still haven't been to Wales though and would like to. A Brit at work reckons it's wonderful.

Hey, Danny. There sure were a few roads on this trip where you would have had a bit of fun driving a truck.
I was driving 4 mph for about an hour and a half. It was a case of one false move or a brake malfunction = certain death.
And they advertised it as "The Super Forest Road" .
It should be called - "The Shit your pants for 90 minutes road."
