Looks alot like the Chinese QBZ-95, maybe because Russia has strong relationships with China and vice-versa. Maybe they copied it, got an idea from it, or they never copied it, or this gun was invented before it, but, maybe it was being invented and they got an idea off of the QBZ-95 or the other bullpup guns or they wanted to create a bullpup gun. Not Sure.
somebody put around that the weaponry was Russian of better quality and it is only on attempts and on television this carbine only has the effective reach 300 m and with the silencer of 200 m so American carbines are better
These weapons are only used for close quarters and only by specnaz, you will never see a russian soldier using this, for war they use the AK-103/104. The vintorez and bal are used for the same thing, you don't want to be seen with something bulky, right?
@inkbot2000 I know that, it uses the 7.62mm one. The Bal and so on use the 9x39mm one and for what I have heard the tip of the bullet is made of tungsten to help with the penetration of the bullet.
@identisick But the 103/104 models are the rarely issued 7.62x39mm versions (they're designed mainly for export, but some law enforcement units like OMON are using them) of the far more used 5.45x39mm AK74M and AK105 (carbine-length barrel version)...
to me it just looks like the British armies weapon the short variant. by the way it looked like with the grenade launcher attatched you can't fire bullet rounds.
Looks good, works well, modular, it has a lot going for it. The first time i saw it, i thought it was essentially the russian equivalent to the P90, ut with a grenade launcher. Its a 9mm correct? So against odyarmor it wouldnt be as effective right?
Based on the 7.62mm used by the AK-47, with a bigger, heavier bullet that carries plenty of kinetic energy (i.e. a lot more than a 9x19mm or 5.7x28mm) without breaking the sound barrier.
Why isn't that guy wearing hearing protection when he's firing the gun at the range? Is he perhaps already deaf? So stupid and such a bad example to give to people... enjoy your tinnitus and hearing aid, comrade.
@Sniperwolfsguy leave alone russians. they are far better off without american sheatsupe. Americans have their coalition of the willing.. They can work with thouse madeup nations..
Had. It was destroyed and made a huge crater in the ground....from two miles up my physics teacher told me! But the point I was trying to make was that Americans are a little less calculating and would launch humanity into the dark ages and a flicker of outside aggresion.
ВРАНЬЕ нах!!! ПЕРВЫЙ булпап??? а то что коробов сделал штуки 4 винтовки такой компамовки, но бы послан так как в те времена Калаш считался идеалом.....
The OC-14 Groza ("Thunderstorm") is a bullpup assault rifle and grenade launcher combination designed by CKIB SOO (Central Design Bureau of Sporting and Hunting Weapons) in Tula, Russia, and is manufactured by TOZ (Tula Weapons Plant). The OC-14 is available in either 9 x 39 mm or 7.62x39mm.
THE FUNCTION OF THE WEAPON IS NEARLY IDENTICAL TO THAT OF THE KALISHNIKOV FAMILY OF RIFLES.
yea well... i mean it is still a pretty nice modular weapon which is prety good for the sepcial forces. Plus this rifle was designed in times when russia didnt have any money after the break up of USSR. Check the new versions of A91 rifles, now THOSE ones are real nice.
Any fuckhead can edit wikipedia, that's why it's not a reliable resource. If I think George Washington was secretly a woman and his tongue was made out of chocolate mousse, I can write that.
And then a knowledgeable person will change it...a vast majority of articles on there are posted by respected and certainly knowledgeable Academic Decathlon officials. Don't beleive they're reliable? Try reading a DemiDec resource and quizzing on it. I dare you.
Sry its too much to tell you all...they say that Kalashnikov wasnt good enough for special forces...so they used the "Aks-U" for a bullpup looking Kalashnikov. It was the first Bullpup gun for anti terror using.
It can be set up in these configurations: over/under w/launcher, w/scope, w/sound suppressor, w/scope & sound suppressor, w/foregrip, or microcarbine version for vehicle crews. You wouldn't see the launcher, scope, and sound suppressor on it at the same time. With the launcher configuration, the single trigger controls both the rifle and launcher with a selector switch.
LoL looks like russia took p90 and famas concept but kept same caliber. Short but bullpub and powerful. I bet u anything its max guranteed range is 400-500yards. All russian guns are 400-600 max. Having a heav bullet and barrel makes it more reliable but less accurate.
