  • NIce one Jesse...gosh!..a long video..but I know time just goes when youre playing and enjoying the feel and sounds of it...interesting hearing your approaches on the electric too. I think Strats lend themselves to just about anything -fingerpicking blues (as on acoustic) through to single string solo plectrum stuff. (You using a plectrum here? or just thumbnail?). Nice to jam along to Eric eh?-I used to like to have a go at 'Edge of Darkness' along with Eric'!!-Good stuff Jesse.

  • @ianmcgeachy Hi Ian, Thank you so much man!, yea its a long video and it was one hour long before i edited it :), I think this kind of jam is really like Therapy, after a long day you come home and you play the hell of that thing !, at start on the african early blues thing i do i use my fingers but when i jam along to the playback i use a pick, next one i do i'll put some good blues, that was just spontaneous songs i found because i was too lazy to find the good ones ;).

    Cheers,

    Jesse

  • Wow that was amazing! and i would never treat you like dylan, you sing way better lol. Every once in a while i take my Strat out and even put some fuzz on, i think it's therapeutic lol..Keep them coming!!!

  • @Bluesmanstrat1 Thank you so much man !, well I think bob dylan is not the best singer in the world to put it mildly BUT he has a style of singing that is special for him and you can hear a song of him and know that its Dylan :), I agree...Just put that thing on full blast and play away man its the best medication in the world ;)

    Cheers,

    Jesse

  • @Bluesmanstrat1 Thank you so much man ! :), It sure is Therapeutic, better then any drug or medication ;)

    Cheers,

    Jesse

  • all ya need is me on Bass !!

    LOL

  • @davey4557 your invited to jam any time you like man ;)

  • Hi Jesse, that was so good :-))))

  • @australien92 Thank you for watching my friend appreciate it ! :)

  • @Hippie1944 Thank you appreciate it ! :)

  • @canarycreek Thank you very much man ! :)

  • Hi Jesse, wow man your great on electric man!, you got the feel for the blues no matter if its acoustic or electric, really enjoyed this!, thank you for posting :)

  • @yhz22 Hi there, Thank you very much ! :), yea in the blues like in other styles but specially in the blues you got to feel it, its not like 'OK here is this chord or that scale progression...' you need to forget all about that and focus on the feeling!

  • Excellent work my friend! Fender Strat? If so, Mexican or American??

  • @JoshWMusic1 Thank you Josh means a lot, appreciate it ! :), yea, its Mexican 2006 60'th anniversary model so its like "half american" because it has upgraded pickups, i think Texas pickups or whatever they called it...at the beginning being mainly an acoustic player i thought i would get a Mexican strat because it was much cheaper and you could hardly hear the difference truly, i must admit that the american series have better hardware, like all the bridge and screws and things like that...

  • @JesseMathews

Very cool, i have a black mexi strat that I satinized the finish on, [steel wool] and the let nature take it's course as far as any damage or what-not.... I named it chai, the hebrew word for life. In fact there is a sticker on it with the word on it. It's rather battered, maybe someday I'll make a video of that too.

  • @JoshWMusic1 its a good name for a guitar :), cool i'll be watching ;)

  • I personally love those african blues styles a lot too...Ali Farka is my favourite musician...One of the finest!

Really nice what you are doing here...:-)

  • @Mariekesone Thank you Rineke ! :), yea I wish i could play like Ali Farka he has a good mix of African style and blues, its fairly 'simple' but at the same time not at all..because you got to get that feel that most of the African players got which is quite different then the blues something more primal though blues can be primal too but you can hear the connection roots to the African styles.

    Cheers,

    Jesse

  • Hi Jesse. I liked Dylan, more, 'after electric ' ! 'Newport objectors were proven well wrong,in my opinion,by the great popularity he subsequently enjoyed.Of course I'm a blues (not folk)enthusiast, and so are you,so its different. It was electric blues that 'got me in'.I now greatly love old, acoustic blues, too.Long vid.,so I mainly just listened, doing chores. You have produced plenty of fine sounds here, and I liked them. Thanks for helping me maintain a 'house full of blues'. Regards, Greg.

  • @Gregparkerblues Hey Greg, Nothing to worry about i was only joking about Dylan ;), you know that pete seeger pulled he's plug when he performed lol.., haha yea the video originally was more then an hour, i had to edit only the better parts, thanks for watching the whole thing appreciate it ! :)

    Cheers,

    Jesse
