  • Thank you so much for sharing! My hubby and I are contemplating transracial adoption and looking to become the best parents we can be, regardless of our child's race or ethnicity. You have such a wonderful family! I'm so glad I saw this video!

  • Are black people aloud to adopt white children?

  • It's not clear..you look like a natural mother son.

I love the closeness you guys have:)

  • I'm so glad to have seen this video. It is heartening to know that there are transracial adoptions that are full of love, mutual respect, intelligence and a realistic perception of the shortcomings of the world in which we live, and sensitivity. I was very touched by what you both shared here. I was transracially adopted in 1974 to two white parents who could not comprehend that a discussion of my biracial blackness could be a good thing. Sadly, we are estranged now. All the best to you.

  • The truth 101. A lot of people like to say that race doesn't matter just to turn a blind eye to it. In reality it really does matter and not just the race but the culture, and it's wrong to just ignore it. Especially when the child deserves to know all about their race and culture/heritage.

  • hottie lol

  • My husband and I are white and my 8mo son is black. I identified very much with the acute awareness of white privilege and being very conscious of color, in what I hope is the best way possible. The honesty about color, the openness of their relationship - this is what I aspire for my family and it brought tears to my eyes to see the possibility of the future for me.

p.s. I hope my son thinks I'm that cool when he is this guy's age

  • Wow, this lady, the brilliant mum, understands the world seemingly better than 99% of the rest of us, regardless of colour or ethnicity. What she said about 'white privilege' - to admit to something like that in the US especially is pretty amazing, I think. But most of all, what a fantastic mother she is. And what a lucky son he is.

  • @TraffordReds9 I totally agree

  • Great looking guy. Glad he has a good bond with his adoptive mom.

  • Not being funny but Drake? That second picture especially the one with the suit & tie. Just saying.

  • I am a mom of nine, five of whom are adopted from foster care, four of whom are African American. I absolutely loved this video, because it is exactly what I have always said is my view on transracial adoption. As parents, we all teach our kids how to react to comments by others by the way WE react. I love the fact that it's obvious my kids are adopted, because it's one more opportunity to share with people the cool story of how the Lord brought them into our lives.

  • @mommamel9 I wish there were many more people like you in the world, I really do. All the best to you and your loved ones x

  • WHO "dislikes" this video? I loved their relationship! Maybe it was an accident to mark it as "dislike". The info shared was great!

  • He's so handsome and his mom is adorable! However, I disagree that it's obvious she's not his birth mother! I have friends & neighbors who are biracial couples & their birth children look very much like this man! I think their advice is fitting for anyone who has a biracial child from adoption or from birth. The reason you don't see other races involved in transracial adoption is because healthy white children are always adopted right away by rich white families! White children with special nee

  • he looks biracial not black

  • @XxEvE1986xX be careful its really hard to draw that line. People should just say american. Americans are so damn color struck. This guy looks like my father and he has two parents who call themselves african american. There are many people who are "african american" who come in all shades. dont judge on skin color.

  • @khalilahinjapan sorry to jump in this conversation...but, you can tell he has some other race in him besides Black. Even if both of his parents were Black, the "other race" could be down the line; but you can tell he has more than Black in him.

  • African american doesnt mean just having Black in you. Maybe you dont know the meaning of Black in AMerica as "blacks" 98 % of the time have more than just "Black" in them. No matter, in racist america he will be treated like he just got off a ship from Africa. I am "Black" but I look like I have more than "black" in me but its more of a cultural thing and I dont see how you can just call anyone Black from their appearances... Calling someone Black is the same as calling a pink person white.

  • @khalilahinjapan All Blacks in America are not treated like they just got off a ship from Africa. This is an exaggeration. It used to be Negro, then changed to Black, then Jesse Jackson decided we should be called African-American. I resent one man deciding what we should be called. I am an American, who happens to be Black. I learned to see the beauty in a person for WHO they are and not by skin color. Practice looking behind the "veil", I believe the same will be given to you. Much Love!

  • Hey I am all for people calling themselves American rather than being so color struck. I am just saying that I am mixed with many things but I was treated with so much resentment in the states for being a woman of "color". I live and work in an international community now in Japan with people from all over the world and we dont care about skin color but in the states, there is a lot of racism and class ism.

  • @khalilahinjapan Also, I will speak for myself as an American, I like seeing how two races or even multi-racial couples children turn out. I think it is really cool! It just shows how we get so many other races - the mixing of them. Look at the Brazilian people, they are multi-racial people. I could go on, but I think that is enough for now.

  • @khalilahinjapan hes biracial, both black and white.

  • very nice judy! i love the video!

  • Damn he looked like Drake when he was younger lol. He is so cute and funny.

  • @MaddamL I thought the same thing. OMG, LOL

  • Woman must really have been messed up when she was young.

    So to for her husband.

  • I am in love with this video! I LOVE the fact that he is so comfortable in his skin and, this family truly does understand that "color" should be confined to a crayon box. Love is blind.

  • i was adopted in the early '60s when i was 2yrs old--i'm now 46. mom's italian & dad is jewish. am only child. would love to talk to other black sons & daughters whose parents are white. had a wonderful childhood. grew up & still live in manhattan.

  • After vomiting for the fourth time I truly am ashamed of my race. Just how mentally ill are these women

  • @cybercutealicious if you're so ashamed of your race you are welcome to renounce it. I assure you the rest of us white people have no use for "people" like you and would be very happy to not count you amongst us.

Nice video, I like that they admit that there are issues involved. I also think his self-acceptance may have been helped along by the fact he's REALLY handsome.

  • @cybercutealicious What do you mean? She shouldn't have adopted a black child?

  • I think the video did a good job of explaining that it is not a easy road, and that confidencce in knowing who you are trumps all.

  • I'm writing a research paper on this right now. It's really interesting.

    That guy is so handsome.

  • What a charming family! Both cool people, for sure :)

  • Has anyone else noticed that its only white people who do transracial adoptions? nobody else does. NOBODY. White people are fcking weird. Keep to your own kind, there are plenty of poor, homeless white kids in Romania and shit.

  • @JonaBay thats actually not true. majority is white people but other races do it as well...just not as common

  • I'm currently pregnant with my half Korean half white baby. I'm choosing adoption because my and my ex already broke up and I can't raise the baby by myself. I have no money and I haven't finished school. I really hope I can find a nice family for my baby. It's so hard giving my baby up, and I'm worried about her being mixed racially and being accepted. I really am so sad and I can only hope that I can find a good family to place my baby in.

  • @silverakisame

My husband and I have a biracial son whom we adopted at birth. We love him so much. He is still in preschool, but we have not had any problems with him being accepted.

I have so much respect for what you are doing. I know it requires so much courage. Many others would have chosen to end the baby's life. You are in my prayers.

  • @silverakisame Good Luck! I wish you the best. There are many families who are willing to raise your child and teach them about both cultures. The decision that you are making is very brave. I hope you have found a family.

  • Hi. My husband and I are hoping to adopt and would love a baby of any race! If you haven't found a family let we'd love to send you some information about our family to see if we may be a good fit for your baby. Best of luck to you!!

  • Judy, what a pleasure to see you again and meet Aaron! The video on YouTube was great. I plan on sharing it with Kiri, especially since she is making plans for college. You're the Best! Pat Kluzik Stauch

  • Well done Judy and Aaron! You shared important information in an engaging and fun way.

    Warmly, Meg

  • This was a really good video, I'm currently doing a research paper on transracial adoptions, for schook and I couldn't find any recent studies or information regarding this topic. Your video helped me out a lot. You guys are awesome! : )

  • @Godsflame1

    try the "adoptedthemovie"

really good info if you are sill doing it.

  • he is so cute! and i love how honest he is :)

  • He is so cute.

  • He looks like he could have come from her womb if the father was black.. Either way , that is her baby...doesnt matter if it is not blood.

  • @khalilahinjapan yea exacly he could pass as her biological child for sure

  • my wife has two black parents and they have no interest in there culture or where they came from either

  • I know this is an old comment, but was your wife White and adopted into a Black family?

  • He's so cute! ^.^

    Good video as well.

  • this is a great clip! I love this woman. she's awesome and very aware! Her honesty is great and more need to listen to her! the sense of humor resembles my mum and me!

  • I was adopted into a white family. They don't take any interest in my culture, where I came from or any of that and it really hurts. I have loads of anger inside of me.

  • So sorry to hear that!

  • @420itsme im black and come from a good home with a mom and dad and i really dont know what this black culture thing is caues it changes everywhere im from the Caribbean and we have a different culture from US B and even in the islands there are different cultures and then even in the island there are different cultures so y do u think it would be important for u to know your culture unless u were planing to go back

  • @420itsme .would not learning the new culture be more beneficial for u anyway since thats your new environment

  • @420itsme my other qus is would it be better if u left in the situation u were adopted out of

  • Love the video. More potential parents need to have the courage to adopt regardless of race.

  • they need to be culturally aware that it will be a tough road!

  • why is it so obvious he didn't pop out of her womb - he looks mixed w/ white to me...

  • Given the topic, it's very obvious he's adopted!

  • yes of course but if you met him w/ his mom in the shopping mall I wouldn't be 100% sure that it's not his birth mom. When I look at him I wouldn't rule out that he has a white parent.

  • Carlyonline is me, also known as IftheShewfits. One and the same!

  • Fantastic! Thank you! We have an interesting twist: our Chinese born son is albino, so in some respects he looks like us, and in others, he looks Asian. There aren't many who "look like" him. I sure hope I'm as cool as you by the time he's in college! lol!

  • What a beautiful video!! I love it ;)
