I am a classical music lover since I was a child, way before I started listening to mundane crap. Classical music lover is like a brotherhood, or more like the mafia, once you enter, you never leave... and it feels so goooooood!!!!!!!!!!
Ah, the music of Ludwig van Beethoven always calms my nerves and puts me at peace, it is such a wonderful thing to be in a area of true fans of the classical arts can be understood, I may like rock and such, but classical is always my numbers one.
my violin teacher gave me a recording of perlman in the 80s i believe, with the boston something, which is the single greatest recording of this concerto i 've heard to date. i've searched for the best. This one is great, amongst the greats. She is in tune with the music, big time.
I'm still waiting to see even ONE of these comment pages where great artists are not torn to shreds in ugly, vacuous comparisons to yet other truly great artists.
And by whom? Vulgar, ignorant novices motivated largely by envy.
These same commentators, no doubt, every time they make love to their mates, likewise flatter the latter afterward with their brilliantly detailed and similarly scathing comparisons, one by one, to each and every other lover they've ever had in bed.
Esto es lo que mas se parece al cielo, me parece estar escuchando un angel hablandome el lenguaje mas sublima que es el de la musica, y no cualquier instrumento, nada MENOS QUE EL VIOLIN.
very touching masterful. Real Beethoven. The only other rendition of this concerto I like is by Vengerov and Rostropovitch. Bravo Silvia! The orchestra lets down unfortunately.
If you hear to Szering or to Oistrach you will realize that Silvia marcovich still plays as a good pupil, but not realy inspiring.
By the way, the recording is surprizing good. Not only the greman soundengineers and "Tonmeisters", but look! also the roumanian know about good recording! Bravo!
I respectfully disagree. I admire Heifetz, Szeryng, Oistrakh, and Stern, but I do not think that Silvia Marcovici is any less of an artist or interpreter than they were. I have heard, and seen, Ms. Marcovici perform the Beethoven concerto live, in Bucharest, and her performance was inspiring to me, and to everyone else present, who, a moment after the last note faded, lept to their feet, applauding and shouting. Her performances at the Bucharest Atheneum concert hall were moving, revelatory.
I think Silvia has come into her own now. She is a very good interpretive artist. Love her feeling she puts into it. Agreed she is not Szering or Oistrakh. Neither is anybody else.
Me too i love her, she's my musical idol!!! In this concerto she's better than accardo, hahn, mutter, chang, koh, vengerov, kyung and all the actully players summed!
if god could grand me one wish before i die, would be to play the violin with an orchestra and get to be one of the lucky few who experienced first hand the power of music trough your veins and ears made by you...
I read where when this piece was completed by Beethoven there was no one who could play it. Silvia you are the finest I have heard...........beautiful!
Silvia e bravisima !!

Plays the notes but no inspiration. Not a great violinist. Only a good one and they are two a penny.
