Madeleine Kahn was comedy brilliance. Who on earth could make counting to twenty SO funny. I miss her brilliance and talent. In What's Up Doc she stole the entire picture and in Paper Moon and Blazing Saddles she simply shone! A matchless comedy talent that left us far far too soon.

I never knew very much about Madeline Kahn, wasn't familiar with her film career, as most of her work was before my time, and she tragically passed away in the late 90's...but I remember these clips so vividly. Almost like yesterday seeing her count to 20 with her 'twin' or teaching Grover about echos. She was an incredibly talented lady, and she will always be remembered and missed.

My mom met her once, but they really didn't talk much, since Mom knew that Madeline was probably tired of being bothered by people so she just said hi. Maddy smiled and said hi, too. Mom said she was really kind of short, but very nice. They lived in the same apartment building whn my mom was modeling 30 some years ago and they met in the elevator.

Good to see this again...she was a very good comedic talent and died too young. She made several SS appearances, and also was a guest on the Muppet Show.

BTW, it never occurred to me before now, but Madeline Kahn looks a lot like Nicole Kidman. It's not something you'd catch right away because Kahn is so typically associated with comedy/singing routines and Kidman almost entirely with drama.
