Way too heavy >.< The only recent mustang worth talking about is the late 90's early 00's era cobra. To leave some positive in my comment I will say that these two sound fucking awesome, both of them. I like the hemi sound more than the new ford but earlier cobras are the shiznit :)

@radicalradu SRT8. It has the wheels, it has the lower chin spoiler, it has an SRT8 rear bumper, it has body colored door handles and rear view mirrors. The front end doesnt have the chrome trim under the headlights.

The SRT8 wheels are 1000US new, each wheel, the front fascia, rear bumper, rearview mirrors, and door handles would add another 3k, before paint.

To fake an SRT8 would cost 7k or so. Or, you could just pay the markup difference and get a 425HP v8 for 'free.'

The 300 won this round. The Hemi makes so much more Torque on take off that it pushed the car down strip faster from the start. Its a bigger heavier car too, a Luxury Brand, keep that in mind when you write stuid comments. A Big Bad Luxury Ride beating a sport designed muscle car.

I wouldn't ever be worried about an SRT8 vehicle. The last couple out at Speedworld here in Phx trapped 99 mph every run. My friend's '07 300C SRT8 with ported heads, SRTMAX cam, intake and full exhaust went 107 mph with race gas, 104 mph on premium. I was doing 105 mph in a junk '82 mustang coupe with a weak 234 whp, and i'm doing 108 mph in a heavy '92 convertible with pulleys, exhaust, and a 100 dry shot- everything else is stock with no weight reduction, 3460 lbs race weight.

@hispanic88 It's from a builder named Inertia in Dallas or close to there, it's a 218/223 .556/.566 on 113 lsa. About as big of a cam you can use with stock heads, (.570 is the limit for ptv clearance, etc.). It's actually a pretty small cam, considering most LS motor cars run at least lifts of .600+. Like I said, when I get on Dr's and maybe a verter I should hit high 11's easy.

What are your plans for the g8? I saw a guy hauling ass down the tollroad in one yesterday lol

Yup I have heard of inertia they make some great cams. I have a buddy with an inertia max in his srt8 charger.

My plans for the g8 are some LT's so I can break into the 12.70 range then maybe a small verter in the future. Haven't really though about a cam yet. You go out to LMP in sealy any?

After 500-600HP, it comes down to ride quality, and build quality. The fact that when you're going all out crazy in a Prius, and a M3 only has to play "catch-up" with the Prius and still have a better fuel economy, that's performance. We're coming to a time where everything else has to catch up with raw engine power, and people see that.

@rhynix20 lol the nürburgring is the most dangerous race track (toll road) in germany and perhaps the world. if there ever was an ultimate test of the balance of speed vs handling, that course would be it so it means ALOT that it held the record for fastest sedan. and its funny you mention the whole m3-prius deal, the reason being that the M3 has to use less power to accelerate at the same rate as the prius to the certain speed. so it only wins by a technicality. top gear didnt tell u that

@GrabbinSomeHAX Well, theres bullshit behind everything. The fuel economy test off Top Gear wasn't flawed, but it explained something behind all their talk. A car to serve a purpose will be best at doing that purpose. Taking a Prius to it's limits and having a M3 just keeping up and having a higher fuel economy doesn't mean the Prius is a bunch of BS, but it was meant for casual driving, at which it will get an economy the M3 can't touch. American cars are catching up, but i'll pay the premium.

see the difference between supercharging a srt8 and a mustang is that the srt8s engine and tranny will handle the full 500+ rwhp no problem. a regular blown mustang gt will: throw a rod, burn out a piston or 2, kill the tranny.
