  • Thankyou so much for posting this. The great Al Green singing with the Dave Matthews Band. What a treat!

  • great memories!!! i was there...drove from norman, oklahoma to go see this concert.... great story about al green...they were filming this for some IMAX show, and they filmed it bad the first time, so al green had to comee out AGAIN and play this great song again!!! what a great night!!!

  • GREAT!! I love AL Green--but Dave Matthews really adds another dimension to this classic.

  • Excellent! Where the heck did this come from...the Heavens? I've listened to this four times in a row. Everybody is 'gettin' down Carter, Stefan, Roi Butch, Boyd and the 'Lovely Ladies". Wow, Dave and Al are on fire! Thank you byrnedwn. This is definately going into my Favorites! All I can say is WOW!!!

  • WOW...i wanna witness!!

  • Wow, That's bringing the message!!

  • thats the rev al green dave, excellant music as always

  • What a treat! Al Green singing this song.... love it! This man is so gifted and interesting. He also wrote a book entitled "Take Me To The River"

    A singer, Reverend and producer.

Fantastic video!!! A true soul singer!!

  • Thanks you

  • I see one stick flying at 03:23 lol

  • they should do this next year! and sledghammer again. and always bring back watchtower.

  • Probably one of the coolest videos

  • DMB played two shows that weekend, I went to the *other* one. When I heard about Al Green showing up, I was mad I missed out.

  • Excellent version, and great sound quality. Thanks for the post. This song is hard to mess up it's so good.

  • I was at the show, a great one at that, but if you notice at 2:34 Dave has a different guitar, he took two takes on the film, but god damn...I got to see al green twice... it was a good day

  • i didn't see a different guitar

  • At 5:41 they show Dave from behind and he's definitely not playing the Chet (the black guitar seen through most of the video)

  • maybe...but I think it was just the lights screwing with us. they did play it twice to get the video they wanted so who knows, did he play a different guitar during any other part the show?>

  • Yeah I'm guessing he used the Gibson Chet Atkins SST for some of the set and the Taylor 714 for other songs. The Chet had been his main guitar for year but he transitioned to Taylor's during the 2000 tour.

  • Hm. Seems from the crowd has no clue who Al is, judging from their reaction. Damned shame.

  • Wow! Nice DMB!

But I don't understand the narcisistic personality that would prompt artists to walk off stage without fininshing their own song! What the hell is that all about Al! You spend all that time saying goodbye to Chicago but you can't end the number?

  • AMAZING! Was at this show as well. Thanks for posting!!!!

  • this performance is simply awesome...great driving band and Rev Green preaching salvation...the power of love!

  • I was at this show and have been looking for a clip for a long time, thank you for posting it!
