  • Don't you remember the one big out lesbian on Idol several years ago? She had super short hair and suspenders, it was amazing :)

  • People are really stupid!!! She sings "I kissed a girl" and hop....she a Lesbo !!! What about Katy perry tehn ?? Or better yet...the guy who wrote that song??? Maybe he was gay..Who knows ?!!

  • Lesbian-ish contestant -_- lol you're fucking stupid. Yes, I'm gonna elaborate. Who cares what sexual preferences she has.. that's like saying. "Heterosexual man sings"

  • OMG these arguments in the comments are so stupid.

I'm here just to watch Frenchie's audition again.

Who cares if they are lesbian? (I'm not saying the owner of this video is homophobic or anything) I just don't see any relevance lol.

  • Frenchie is amazing, I am so upset, that she is not that famous yet.

  • Beverly was not my favorite at first but she really grew on me & really appreciated & respected for how much she really loved what she did. I wanted her to win.

  • Dude your an idiot, if she is lesbian who cares?? Thats her business. If she is or isnt its her business not yours and if she is theres nothing wrong with it. And why the fuck would you label it "Lesbianish"??!

  • My goodness! Its 2011 almost 2012. People are who they are and peole are here forever. This is why we as a people and a country is so divided. If we could stay out of others personal affairs we'll be ok.

  • @Margate5578 wrote "If we could stay out of others personal affairs we'll be ok."

    ---

I completely agree with your sentiments but... are we butting into Frenchie's affairs if she has stated on Facebook that she likes women (in the Likes Men/Women category)? Discussion of her sexual orientation is not the same as trying to change her, or find her blind dates.

  • @Margate5578 Talking about something a performer has revealed in not an intrusion of privacy. If she didn't wat us to know her sexual affection for women, she wouldn't have posted it on Facebook.

  • where is Vicci? :d

  • The description Is Fucked up

  • @MrRikishi1000 wrote "The description Is Fucked up"

Why? Please elaborate. And QUOTE exactly what is wrong.

  • @lgbtTV4 I mean the Title

  • Okay, I'm going to say this to end the ridiculous amount of responses to my comments which apparently came across as homophobic. I am the niece of a lesbian, and my best friends mom is a lesbian. That doesn't change the people they are, they shouldn't be classified in such a way. Yes, they are proud to be lesbians, but is it really up to you to tell them they are such? The title, to me, came across as making fun of these individuals. I now see I'm in the wrong.

  • @MaggotLlama Bottonline is this: you were obnoxious to criticize others on what should matter to them. And for some stupid reason, you automatically assume that people who were interested in her sexuality were judging her on based on it. Sounds like projection on your part since you do seem a bit judgmental. Look at any band or performer's website. There's a bio. If the performance/voice is all that matters, why do performers give out personal information?

  • @BriannaNoob What I'm saying is whether or not she is proud of it, people shouldn't be walking around going "Oh, that lesbian, Frencie", yes she is proud of it, and I understand and respect that, but people these days are still unable to comprehend that it's not a disease.

  • and besides they had a limited choice of sogns and this was the only one left.

  • Seriously? who the fuck would look up "lesbianish" idol contestants. I saw this on the side of one of Frenchies other songs and had to comment. You're a shallow, closed minded idiot.

  • @MaggotLlama wrote

    > You're a shallow, closed minded idiot.

Why the need for insults and personal attacks? Close mindedness? You're actually closeminded to the fact that others may be interested in her sexuality, just like they're interested that she was on Am Idol. Some of us want to know the whole person.

    > who cares if she is bisexual.

Why assume that your disinterest is shared by others? Why so arrogant? Why don't you tell the show then to omit all bio info unconnected to voices?

  • a lot of lesbians have gigantic clits.

I would love to see Frenchie and Bev McClellan do the clam bump while singing a duet "Over the Rainbow"

HA HA HA HA HA HA hahahahahahaha

Is America ready for a pair of bald clam humpers?

  • Haven't read fully everyone's argument here but on Frenchie's Facebook page, under the heading "Interested In..." she checked off the option 'Men/Women'. So she's interested in both, more power to her <3 Her voice is incredible!

  • I love Frenchieeeeee :)

  • Frenchie isnt a lesbian actually, and I think her look fits her perfectly, shes beautiful!

  • I hope people will vote based on talent and not on appearance or sexuality. I just want to see the best voice win!

  • Who give a shit if she's a Lesbian or not. Is Katy Perry a lesbian for recording it. Yall are some lame ass hateful ass assholes.

  • @thickharddick1 wrote "Who give a shit if she's a Lesbian or not. Is Katy Perry a lesbian for recording it. Yall are some lame ass hateful ass assholes"

Who are "Yall"? Show me one person here who wrote anything "hateful" because of lesbianism or this song. And read carefully: Who here said that Frenchie is a lesbian? . I clearly wrote "Lesbian-ish" in the title, and "I don't know if Frenchie Davis is gay/bi" in the description. And BTW, 1600+ people who watched this video "gives a shit."

  • @thickharddick1 Seriously, think before you post. And learn to use a dictionary. When one puts the suffix "-ish," it means that there are characteristics of something, and not that it actually is that something, i.e. boyish Duh. Don't accuse others just because you don't know English.

    dictionary.reference[DOT]com/browse/-ish

I challenge you to quote where I said that Frenchie is lesbian. What a sad joke,,,

  • @thickharddick1 Oh btw, since when is speculating that someone might be a lesbian a bad thing? Would speculating that she is single, a college graduate or Catholic also be bad things? If not, why is lesbianism so bad? It clear: you're homophobic. Go get some professional help and learn to accept yourself. Seriously, you'll be happier and won't feel a need to project your self-hatred on others. And don't forget to pick up a dictionary on the way to your therapist.

  • @thickharddick1 Are you really so desperate for attention that you need to start controversy where there is none? Where exactly did he state that Frenchie is a lesbian? In fact, where did he state anything that isn't already known? Really, you need to learn about logic. Your Katy Perry example makes no sense at all.

  • @thickharddick1 I give a shit whether she's a lesbian. Just like I give a shit about how she started in music, where she was raised, her politics, etc. Just because I'm interested in knowing more about someone doesn't mean that the info will affect my feelings about her. Unlike you, I'm not a bigot. It's a shame you think that lesbianism shouldn't be discussed. I guess you just love Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

  • @thickharddick1 Over 1800 people have viewed this video so I guess those people give a shit. What's your problem? Wondering why she might have chosen a song is one of the major aspects of these shows. As American Idol always states, "Song Choice!" And if lesbianism MIGHT play into that, wondering about it fine. Too bad you're so anti-gay that to you, mentioning the topic is negative.

  • @thickharddick1 lolz at girl shut the fuck up

  • @thickharddick1 You ask if singing I Kissed a Girl made Katy Perry a lesbian. Not necessarily. But the comparison is dumb because Katy never said that she liked women, which Frenchie has (on Facebook). And there is no record of Katy at gay events; search Youtube for Frenchie at gay events. Repeat, your example is dumb because it's not reality. PS - why don't you reply or apologize?

  • @lgbtTV4 She sang this song because of the ranges she could reach.

  • @MaggotLlama wrote "She sang this song because of the ranges she could reach"

There are plenty of less controversial songs with broad range so I can't help but think that she was expressing herself through lyrics. This is made more probable by her Facebook page, where she professes an interest in BOTH men AND WOMEN. Regardless, I think it was a gutsy song choice, especially if she was professing her bisexuality.

  • @lgbtTV4 Okay, but to classify her song as "lesbianish" who cares if she is bisexual. That has nothing to do with how amazing her voice is. And maybe she chose this song based on the fact that she knew she could make it her own.. I simply don't understand why it matters if she's bisexual.

  • @MaggotLlama wrote

    > but to classify her song as "lesbianish"

QUOTE where I classified her song as lesbianish. Read the title again. Carefully.

    > who cares if she is bisexual

What a silly thing to say. First, SHE CARES. That's why she mentions it on Facebook. Second, she obviously thinks others care. Why else would she mention it PUBLICLY? Third, read the posts and you'd see that some people do care. And 5730 people viewed this video despite the DESCRIPTIVE title, so they cared.

  • @lgbtTV4 I didn't mean who cares if she is bi in that manner. I meant why would it matter? You should very well know that the gay community is ridiculed for being who they are. I just don't understand why you would have to post this as her being "lesbian-ish". Why classify her in that way. I would be giving the same rant if someone posted a video of "black contestants"...Their race/age/sexual orientation shouldn't matter. It should be their voice that is heard/

  • @MaggotLlama wrote

    > That has nothing to do with how amazing her voice is

I didn't edit or /post this video to discuss her voice. I made it clear that it was about sexuality. Read the title and description. Note that show had bios of the singers, indicating that some are married and two men are gay,. Is that relevant for their voices? Probably not, but it does contribute to the entire person.

    > I simply don't understand why it matters if she's bisexual

    Ask Frenchie, and the producers.

  • @lgbtTV4 What I mean, is in this day in age, calling her a lesbian will effect her status in the show. Whether you like it or not. My best friends mother is a lesbian, my aunt is a lesbian, I completely support the gay community, but the fact that you posted this as "lesbian-ish contestants".. Why does it matter if she is a lesbian. It doesn't change her voice.

  • @MaggotLlama Interesting points, but why are they relevant here? Where did lgbttv say that you should vote for her (or against her) based on sexuality? Read the Description. To say that being a lesbian is irrelevant is like saying that we shouldn't mention that Jackie Robinson was black -- or President Obama, for that matter. You may live in a fantasy world, but when racial/sexual barriers are broken in my world, it's worth mentioning. Your points are irrelevant so preach somewhere else.

  • @MaggotLlama Who cares? You don't understand? Maybe you'd understand and care if you were a young black lesbian growing up without any role models. And that's the case with some girls in my SW caseload.. They hear about Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez, and the Jonas Bros and their girlfriends. What about girls like her?

As a 50+ y/o professor, do I care about Bieber, Gomez, the Jonas Bros, Mylie Cyrus, or even Jennifer Lopez? No, but I'm not so stupid as to think that no one else would.

  • @MrsMollyMalloy Okay, well all I'm saying is that I found it quite a bit offensive that it would matter if she's a lesbian. It doesn't. That's like someone classifying a person as "oh, that's Jewish tom".. Who cares? It shouldn't matter what this girls background is, or what her sexual preference is, or her religion, or her race. It's about her voice.

  • @MaggotLlama To someone looking for a lesbian role model, of course it would matter. Otherwise, she wouldn't be a lesbian role model. There are plenty of other black singers so why else would they choose Frenchie? To think that someone's voice alone would make them a role model is ignoring research on minorities and role models. Do you see many opera singers as role models for girls? No, because the girl has to identify with the role model, and few identify with that rarefied culture.

  • @MaggotLlama

Your Jewish example validates my point. To Jewish immigrants in early 20th century America, it was indeed important if a celebrity was Jewish because it gave them hope. Little Jewish kids had concrete evidence that there was a way out of the ghettos. It's the same with other non-dominant groups, including girls. Black lesbians are an invisible group. Studies repeatedly show that personal characteristics are key to identifying with someone. I don't find that offensive at all.

  • @MaggotLlama And I found it offensive that you saw fit to tell others what to discuss, especially when it's not something Frenchie is ashamed of. You're trying to put shame into a topic where there is none, in her eyes. And I have yet to see anyone here "judge" her because of her affection for women. You're the only one here who feels a need to judge others .

  • @MaggotLlama if they only showed things that had " to do with how amazing her voice is," then it would be a very show show. I've watch a lot of these contest shows around the world, and there is always a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with their singing voice, i.e if they;re married, their parents, their jobs, where they live, if they're religious. If you only criticize people for being interested in her bisexuality, then you're a bigot and homophobe.

  • @IrrelevantNewsStuff I am far from a homophobe. I just don't understand why they had to bring up the fact that she may be bisexual. I could honestly care less if she is Bi, or black.. I wouldn't even care if she was a 60 year old male. The only thing that matters is her voice, and that is why the VOICE, is all about just that. They don't look at the person or know anything about them when they come out on stage, they just listen.

  • @thickharddick1 Who gives a shot? You gave a shit; that';s why you watched and posted in this video, even though the title clearly specified what the topic is. Hypocrite. And you obviously have problems reading since lgbtv never said the Frenchie is a lesbian.

  • @thickharddick1 And by the way, 1700+ people watched this video even though the topic is clearly in the title so it looks like 1700+ gave a shit. Looks like not only can't you read English but you also have problems with numbers. Why aska silly question when all you had to do was look at the number?

  • @thickharddick1 wrote "Who give a shit if she's a Lesbian or not. ..Yall are some lame ass hateful ass assholes...You are a typical gossip starter and give gay people an already bad name."

Who gives a shit? Frenchie does because she CHOSE to say that she's interested in men AND WOMEN on her Facebook page. So the truth that she CHOSE TO DISPLAY PUBLICLY is considered gossip? I guess all newspapers are gossip rags to you. Why don't you do some research before making a fool of yourself? Duh.

  • jesus i hate CUNTry artist they're so lame and conservative

  • 1) I don't know if Frenchie Davis is gay/bi, but the choice to sing Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl" was a bold one. The last contestant, Beverly, is definitely a lesbian. She introduced her girlfriend, and gushed over Christina Aguilera's kiss (as an aside, Idol's Katherine McPhee also gushed over a kiss from Paula Abdul in her audition). I'm pretty sure that she is the first open lesbian in any US reality talent show.

  • 2) While other reality shows have had lesbian contestants, these talent competitions are different because the audience votes. An analysis of Idol results prove the power of the Southern and conservative vote, where a contestant's religion and personal life matter. Many say that Idol's David Hernandez was voted off early because of photos showing him stripping at a gay bar. Kudos to Carson Daly for treating Beverly like any other contestant, and even joking with her about Aguilera's lipstick.

  • 3) On second thought, maybe Frenchie's choice o song wasn't that risky after all. In the auditions, the audience doesn't vote and they'll likely forget the audition later in the show. Plus, if Frenchie wanted to work with Aguilera, it may have been the perfect song. At the 2003 MTV American Music Awards, Madonna had famous lip-to-lip kisses with both Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.

  • @lgbtTV4 - Everyone was wondering why she chose this song... well, to put your mind at ease....I read that Frenchie said there was a list of songs and that was the only one left for a female to sing... she said she didn't want to sing this song..
