  • Thank you so much for sharing this :)

  • I've been watching your Mama Natural weekly show for a few months now, but this is the first time I feel like I've really see the "real you"... if you know what I mean. Everything you just said in reflection, made me nod while bawling my eyes out. Genevieve, you are truly an awesome Mama bear xx

  • this video had me streming tears it was so beutiful how connected you all where at such a precious time :) and ur baby is beautiful i myslef have 2 kids but sadly i could give birth natural :'( witch still upsets me my kids are now 6 and 3 and now i get emotional when i watch someone give birth it is such a beutiful thing i had 2 c sections due to perthis disease and my pelvis being twisted and pushed back i think you done a amazing job and you look like a amazing family :) x

  • Wow, what a special birth and date. 10 year anniversary if 9/11. You did amazing mama.

  • Adorable baby! I had tears in my eyes when you held him for the first time :) All my memories came back to me and I also would do everything natural again. I had an easy labor, just like my mom. At 3:30 a.m. I checked at the hospital and at 6:00 my son was already with us. No drugs, no medical inteventions. I delivered with a midwife and my husband. Kajetan is also my first child. I'm so proud of myself and I finally feel like a 100% woman. Thank you for all your videos :)

  • This made me bawl :') You did such an amazing job. I had my heart set on a natural delivery, free of drugs, and unfortunately, I had an emergency c-section. My second child was a c-section as well. Even with the help of pitocin. I envy mothers who are able to deliver this way. Such a beautiful birthing story!

  • Just Beautiful!!! Well done mama!!

    Melanie ( The Netherlands)

  • Aww that baby is too cute :) i wish my mom would have another one but my dad got this surgery so he cant make babies anymore

  • You gave birth two the most beautifulest child I have ever seen! 🚼

    I rate thumbs up👍💘

  • Cute Baby boy ;) Congrats

Do you know that the labour often is in the back when it's a boy, and in the stomach when it's a girl. I have 4 children, 3 girls and 1 boy.

    Thanks for sharing :)

  • ... (cont) I'm hoping to be able to go naturally with my 2nd, whenever the time comes. But I appreciate your honesty in your video. We all have our limitations. I still am upset that my limitations came prior to his birth, but 19 hours was a long time drug-free and I'm proud of that. Labor was 24 hours in total, so I didn't have much time with the epidural. Important thing was that he was happy and healthy. Love your videos! Thanks again for sharing :-)

  • I labored for 19 hours drug-free with my 1st. My water broke at home, only a couple of hours after my first contraction - it was an intense labor the whole way. After about 12 hours of home-labor, I made it to the midwife facility and labored in the tub. I lasted 7 hours at the midwife center before I stalled at 7cm and gave in to an epidural. I was upset with myself for not being able to stick it out for the natural labor I wanted, but I really liked what you said about "being human"... (cont.)

  • I am so glad you mentioned what you did about the Pitocin, the difference between what was effective for you versus how much hospitals give women. When my mother would discuss my birth she would mention 2 things--1.what a beautiful, early October day it was, warm, sunny and 2. How horrible it was getting the Pitocin and having the IV strabbed to her hand and her entire forearm taped to a padded board.

Women need to ask hard questions about Pit. So THANK YOU!

  • Im thinking about how those women on the old time doing this without any med......and thy use to have 5 and up kids amazing

  • lol I'm glad you said you didn't technically go natural. I know so many mommas who say they went natural, but were induced, had their water manually broken and tons of petocin throughout the way. ROFLOL

  • That was really wonderful! I so enjoyed every min of all three labor and delivery sections! Thank you so much for doing this! I had my first two babies totally natural- apart from the mid wife breaking my water, and my third with the comfort of a perfect epidural experience. Now 7 years later, I am preparing for my fourth and last delivery- Got to go natural...the drama is intoxicating.

  • What a unique name, Griffin. Isn't that a mythological creature?

    Cute baby. :)

  • I kinda wonder if Miranda Kerr's experience didn't psych you out a bit... I've had 2, now preg with 3rd and wish I'd Bing-ed "Painless Childbirth" sooner. I'd heard of the "fear-tension-pain" cycle identified by Dr. Grantley Dick-Read, and was able to relax a bit in my births, but I think this time around may be different yet, if I can just manage to de-program the assumption society pounds into us that childbirth is supposed to be excruciating. See also "orgasmic birth". Kid you not :)

  • I lovelovelove your videos and am somehow just now finding these older videos of L&D and Griffin's early days. I'm 21 weeks pregnant right now and expecting a baby boy. Seeing these videos just has me bawling (hello, pregnancy hormones!) and so excited to meet my son. I am completely on the same page with you about child birth and hope so much to be blessed with a natural birth.

  • omg he is adorable!!

  • I had to C-sections and take it from ME...a C-section isn't any "easier" by No mEans. It is considered a Major Surgery and has a substantially longer recovery time. It upsets Me a Great deal to hear that You would like a C-section next time...as if it would be easier.--My OB/GYN had experienced Both processes of Delivery and told Me that SHE preferred a Vaginal Birth to a C-section because it was EASIER...

  • 2 drops of pitocin? 2 drops = natural childbirth. I wouldn't even mention it to anyone. I had a completely natural childbirth (seriously- the only thing I had was antibiotics because I was strep B positive.) at a birthing center and for some reason it still took me 6 weeks to fall in love with my baby. Breast feeding went decently well though with the help of a lactation consultant coming to our home and that was my goal- have a birth that would support breast feeding.

  • Absolutely beautiful!! You really summed up why giving birth is just the way it is- it will connect you with ur baby like nothing else!!

I'm also studying to become a midwife& stories like yours really reminded me how special opportunity it is for me to share that moment with women and their families!!

Best of wishes to you& your family <3 !

    Piia

  • @raintrops Aw, thanks Piia :). God bless.

  • oh my he is so cute

  • @emi282 Thank you :)

  • @MamaNaturalBlog what was the name of those tapes you were listening in the background?? did they help at all???

  • I've been watching a bunch of your videos--watched all 3 pts. of this story. :) I think that if you birth at home, you won't have access to any "interventions" (like pitocin), and no pressure to use them, so you wouldn't. But ah...27 hours is pretty tough!! And what a perfect, gorgeous baby! :) I had pitocin, too--but the full drip. My labour was 14 hours (not counting the contractions at home). Oh and I had a TERRIBLE epidural. For real. It SUCKED.

  • Did you immunize your son? What is your opinion of all these immunizations? Do you think that they are linked to Autism?

  • @dyndor Stay tuned, mama. We are doing a whole series of vaccine videos in November!

  • @MamaNaturalBlog Looking forward to it! (I'm not a mama BTW LOL) but one day I hope to be one! :-) At least I can learn all about it :-)

  • you are such a beautiful mother! i love this video, it takes me my fear of the birth, i am in the 10th week pregnancy now

  • im 13 years old and i want a baby when im happily married... not planning to have a baby any time soon. I am going to have a baby in a hosipital. no offense but i saw ur pain and im terrified so im gonna stick with the whole pain killer thing. im so happy for u!!! when i heard Griffin cry i broke into tears hearing the sound of life!! Im so proud of u!!! enjoy ur baby!! he is beautiful

  • I loved your story - thanks for sharing! What an amazing day for you and your hubby ... and I hope you have forgiven yourself for getting those drops of Pitocin ... you totally rocked your birth and did what was best for you and your bubba! xo

  • @traceydornelles Thank you! Yes, I'm at peace :). XOXO.

  • You're a rockstar! Good Job. So fun to watch your story. I've had two semi-natural childbirths. No epidural or drugs. Glad to see this on youtube! Great video!

  • @feliciakelley NICE! Thanks for your kind words :).

  • @feliciakelley i read your comment im 14 and i was curious to know what is semi-natural ive never heard of it i know natural and c-section but never semi-natural can you please explain to me what is the semi-natural?

  • My bday is also the 11th... congradulations!!

  • That is one cute baby.

  • I wanted to thank you. I am studying to be a doctor of obstetrics and to honest with you, this video has inspired me even greater. Congratulation on your new addition. Your journey has been a trial, which I am sure you will realize you have embarked a new journey. Don't ever lose sight of this journey, as you will see, it is gift that has called many journeys that follow.

  • @thenite187 Aw, thanks so much for your kind message! God bless you...

  • Aw he is absolutely GORGEOUS! My son will be one in October and having him was definitely the most painful but best experience of my entire life. I was also in labour for 27 hours and just had gas and air. :)

  • @xxxRaverxBabyxxx Aw, thank you! And good for you, mama, with your labor! Are you thinking about number 2 yet :)?

  • @MamaNaturalBlog No not just yet! I am going back to my job in two weeks so I feel like I need to stay there for a while before I consider another one, since they were so good to me with my leave. I think we may start trying in another 18 months or so, how about you?

  • @xxxRaverxBabyxxx We'll probably start trying when Griff is 18 months-2 years old. XO.

  • @xxxRaverxBabyxxx how old is he now

  • @msmissy39 Almost 11 months. :)

  • You guys are awesome...

  • @Floweka1 Aw, thank you!!! XO.

  • I see myself inside of you, I will be giving birth to my little man in three months. I hope I have the same experience you had! Honestly I'm not scared of the pain, I have felt a sense of calmness over me these past few months. I will put my battle face on and take this for all it is. Thank you Mamma Natural <3

  • Congratulations, everything about your baby boy is just perfect!!

  • @Cuteyclaire1981 Aw, thanks!

  • So beautiful!

  • Congratulations!

  • I LOVE your story and your videos are so well done!! I'm an independent childbirth educator and I'm currently looking for videos to show in my class. I LOVE the way you explored your options when it looked like you needed some "help" and how you reflect on it in the end. May I have your permission to use your videos in my class?

  • @tisadoll Absolutely! I'd be honored. Thanks for your kind words.

  • lovvveeeeeee his name congratz

  • These videos were truly beautiful. The best of luck to you and your family

  • @MamaNaturalBlog I may be young but I love to write stories about birth and I help my cousin film documentries with my cousin about this. Thanks for giving me a healthy expirience!

  • I can't wait to be old enough to have my own children! Chilbirth us a miracle :)

  • @shadowandmaria0 It is amazing, spirit!

  • damn girl! if you can do 27 hours, surely I could have done 12 hours!

  • Thanks for posting a commentary to go with the videos..I'm 32 wks pregnant, 29 yrs old and still really freaked out about labor. Am signed up to my birth centre but I'm not sure if I can do it..how do you know if you can? Have been watching birth videos to prep myself but it's having the opposite effect...any tips on getting in the right frame of mind??

  • @AllysonVan77 Aw, my heart goes out to you. It can be scary to see other people go through it. Just know that you will make it through. It's a very intense experience but it does END. It usually doesn't last more than 24 hours. Hold that mantra... you can do ANYTHING for 1 day. Start saying affirmations that you are going to enjoy and embrace labor. That it will pass. That an amazing baby awaits you. Overall, it's an incredibly empowering journey that gives birth to Mama Bear!

  • Dont think this was not a natural childbirth because of a little of assistance, you still had to push that little one out of you. Not to sound immature but your birthing video was very hardcore, not many women could do what you did... well they could but you did it your way. You know what works best for you, good luck to you on kid #2 when and if that comes.

  • Thank you for sharing! What an awesome experience and way to go!

  • Beautiful boy ! :* I watched your videos , and I have to say you are a strong woman :) When I grow up , I want to have babies :) Thank you for ur video :)

  • Yes dont do c-section for your next one. Its awful. I had an emergency c/s and the recovery is soooo traumatic. Im pregnant again and soooo hoping for an all natural birth like yours. Thanks for sharing :)

  • @soheavenlei2u Thanks for sharing your c-section experience. Good for you going for a VBAC! Hope it all goes well.

  • @MamaNaturalBlog Thank you! Me too!! I will be doing everything I can and now that I am more armed and not scared of the doctors etc. I am so determined to put my foot down. I have my own midwife this time around who is very supportive of a VBAC instead of the intervention & cut-open happy doctors I had previously. 9 weeks and counting :D

  • thanks for these videos, Im 14 years old and Im 19 weeks along, its good to get a good look at what Im in for. so yeah thanks :)

  • I loved your birth video! I totally understand LONG labors...With my first I was in labor for about 26 hours. My labor kept stalling and since my water broke I was on the clock and spent about 24 hours straight walking and doing yoga. I pushed for 1 1/2 hours. I did it completely naturally though and it was the most amazing experience of my life! Our second is due this August and we are doing a home-birth. I am so excited!

  • @maplesquirrel Hi Natalie, Good for you! I think a home birth would be amazing. I heard the second time is much easier since your first one is the "trailblazer." Hope that's the case for you!

  • @MamaNaturalBlog I sure hope so!!! 26 hours of labor was tooooo long! I hope this time the labor is only a couple hours and the pushing time isn't quite so long. Either way, the end result is ALWAYS worth it. ;-)

  • Its amazing how euphoric scensations that you receive after delivery. Its such a blessing, given all the pain & hard work that is involved up to that point.

  • These videos are just beautiful! What a great birthing story.

  • Oh my goodness, your birth videos are so remarkable! Just amazing. Thankyou for sharing your most life changing moment! And talking us through everything, You are inspirational. I cannot wait to have children someday. I love seeing happy natural videos like yours, Its so sweet. Much Love to your little family.

  • @babyfacedstar Thank you so much! Much love to you too. BTW, I like the version of "I'm Yours" you have on your channel. Thanks for posting :).

  • @MamaNaturalBlog Oh, thankyou :) Ha, thanks! I love that song, even tho my channel is quite boring right now. It's nice to listen too.

    & No problem ;-)

  • you made baby birth divine with this video. i am a mother with similar problems that you have mentioned during labor and i had to get a csection. I am planning a second one now and i will go ALL natural.......thank you

  • @vamsypriya THank you so much for the positive feedback. No doubt, natural childbirth is a HUGE challenge, but it's great to see so many mamas like us going for it. Good luck!

  • @vamsypriya I too had an emergency c/s as my son was posterior and stuck, and also hoping for an all natural this time around (due July). I will definately be doing a trial of labour and hope I can get what I want to truly experience childbirth as its intended. Good luck.

  • I would love to show this in my Bradley classes if that is ok with you!

  • @dancingpt333 Sure thing! Thank you for reacihng out.

  • Hi Mama. I'm a childbirth educator in British Columbia and would love to send my class participants to this video as a guide to natural childbirth. I would love to have your permission first of course. It was absolutely inspiring, real and empowering.

  • @puzzlesjay I would be honored if you shared my videos. Thank you so much!

  • If I have a second baby I would like to try Hypnobabies but I keep hearing the same thing about "once active labour starts - forget it".

  • great video do u have any more children

  • @janek7135226 Hi! No, only 1 baby for now... hope to have more in a little while. How about you?

  • @MamaNaturalBlog nope no kids not for a long time yet it looks too painful lol

  • hey m so touched by ur videos...m so happy to c them,....n afraid too

    I am a girl..haha..

  • All three segments were beautifully done! Thank you so much for sharing this - I'm a first timer due in less than two weeks and I would really prefer to have a natural birth but don't know anyone who has. Your series was honest and real and refreshingly non-judgemental.

(As for the two drops of pitocin - pbth, whatever! What you did was natural enough for me!)

  • wow what a nice set up for a hospital set up thanks for sharing what a nice birth

  • So cute

  • LOVED LOVED LOVED!!!!!! all three videos!! So inspiring & empowering!! I really want to do a natural birth with my 3rd baby. I planed for it with my 2nd & caved in on the epidural hehe! Next time I want to do it at home & better prepare myself for natural birth :]

  • @TheOrtonsLife Thanks Andrea! Home birth would be very special. I get caving in. At the end, I was beside myself and would have done anything to get out of the pain but it was way too late for drugs. Somehow you get through it ;) and you're stronger as a result.

  • Aw, thanks fertigamus! You're so sweet. I DO now have confidence in my pelvis ;). WOW, child number 6! That's impressive. You must be a master of multitasking. We use Final Cut Express as our editing software. Hope that helps!

  • Also I was wondering what software you used to edit. I'm prego with my 6th.. And last... Sniff-sniff... Lol. I would love to document this one the way you have. It would be awesome to have a modest version to share with friends and family.

  • Don't let yourself or anyone else make you feel as if you failed "natural" childbirth. I had someone attack my birth story because I let the dr break my water. I still had no pain medication and actually caught my own baby without a doctor present! You did an awesome job. You prob needed that 2 drops to get you through the mental anxiety of the baby not fitting. Next time I'm sure it'll go much faster now that you have confidence it you pelvis!!

  • Your baby is beautiful...and you are such an inspiration. I want to do a natural childbirth as well (you're all natural in my book hehe). Congrats to you both!!

  • i think pregnancy and natural birth is beautiful:) you did great! i havent has any kids for im too young still but im pretty sure my first one is gunna be a natural birth:)

  • he is such a pretty baby! i hear you about the primal mamabear-ness. my body did what it did w/out any intellectual influence from me.i can remember obeying that instinct w/out question and disobeying the professionals there. at the end everyone called me amazon woman and warrior and that's how i still feel. very empowering, and i used to scoff at that term. not any more. your video was beautiful and inspiring and i thank you for it.

  • I LOVE his name!! :) he is beautiful!!!!

  • @jessinjamie2006. Thanks Jessica!

  • An amazing birth and delivery. I would be so proud right now if I were you!!

  • @ thanks Ashlea!

  • Ooooh he's lovely!! Excellent job Mumma - be proud :)

  • @MsEz81 Thanks Erin!

  • Congratulations again and your story is so amazing! You should be proud, your so strong-willed! IM proud! LOL! Hope you continue making videos with your family! And he is such a cute little boy. Love his eyes. =)

  • @StephaNoid8 Thanks Stephanie! We will be continuing our videos... Whether little Griffin likes it or not. ;) LOL! Hope you and your little girl are doing well!

  • I hope we see you on youtube for the next one! ;) Make sure to use this channel so it pops up in my subscriptions!!

Congrats again, he is amazing!!! Enjoy!

  • Congrats!!

He was almost exactly the same size as Fia!

  • @fluffywanderings Perfect size for me! I don't think I could have handled any bigger... LOL!

  • Oh my goodness!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!! HE IS BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • @dreamflight6000 Thanks so much Amy!

  • Watching this has really inspired me to follow through with my natural labor plans. I am due with a little boy in November, and I am 20 years old. This is my first child, and everybody that I talk to tells me I'm nuts, I'm going to get an epidural, just wait, and all of that, and this just really reinforces my feelings, but also helps me to see the side of yes, we are human and sometimes we need help because we are only human. Thank you for this beautiful video.

  • @mylifeisapuzzle

Everyone told me the same thing, but if it is what you want, you can totally do it! My labor and delivery with my daughter was all natural and totally awesome! But like naturalmama says, sometimes we need help! So anyway you choose to do it will be beautiful. I have vids posted about my labor and delivery if you are interested. :) Have fun with your pregnancy and birthing experience!

  • @fluffywanderings I remember watching your birth story and was so impressed how you had all of your family in the room with you! LOL! Hope you and Fia are doing great!

  • @MamaNaturalBlog We are doing great! Haven't done a video in months... just gets crazy! Her 1st birthday is in 2 months!!! Will have to do an update soon!

  • @mylifeisapuzzle You will do great! More women have birthed naturally by a long shot in the scheme of human history! I personally would be afraid of an epidural as it can slow labor which can lead to c-section :(. Then again some people have a great time with epidural. Trust what feels best for you and go with it!

  • @MamaNaturalBlog Thank you. You have really inspired me a lot. I am terrified of a c-section as well, and the fact that your son was so alert really speaks to me, because I am a firm disbeliever in any drugs, I have a hard time taking tylenol. Congrats on your beautiful son!
