@064supernova There is a large metal community but older metalheads reject them for being "scene" (see Machine Head fans' reactions to Bring Me the Horizon on their co-headline tour of the UK). I'm 18 and I listen to a lot of hardcore punk, metalcore and groove metal (particularly groove) amongst others.

@064supernova No, metal has a huge following. Part of what makes metal so great is that it has such a large following but it's still viewed as an outsiders genre. You should take pride in knowing that you, among millions of other metalheads are listening to HEAVY FUCKIN METAL and no manufactured pop. Today's metal has some promise, but older metal fans need to be more accepting of some of these new bands.
