Videos really don't show how steep a run is. They also don't tell you much about the conditions. Tight trees and Eastern snow can be pretty precarious! Ratings are based on the ski area. I live near Tahoe and a black diamond at Northstar is an intermediate at Squaw Valley. At Squaw, they just put a diamond on the lift. One run might not be to bad where another might be mind boggling steep and scary as hell! search Nissan Tram Face 09 - day 1 and watch. Silverado chair is a black diamond
if you skid it you would know. If you head left from the top of the trail you can find some pretty tasty tress with lots of unskied powder. Also alot steeper. Theres one or two drops you can hit two on that side of the trail. It looks like these guys just skied the center of julio though
i dont rate them, i just ride them. it was steep though, and i did check out both sides of the run .just not on video. the trees are very close together. nothing like kirkwood the wall or daves run at mammoth though. if there were no trees it wouldn't really be a double diamond ,i wouldn't think.
Not commenting on your skills or anything. I just think "Double Black Diamond" and think it'll have either cliffs to jump or some sort of wild animals attacking.
people when you go to smugglers notch and do a double there, you know the defenition, there are unavoidable 10 fooot clif hucks, and only the best there can do them, killington should not rate their trails double, anyone here do double dipper, its bullshit, no way that rates as a double, and yet
it was cool but sugar bowl and mammoth cali. were better. still had a great time there though and the snow was good too. it snowed three times in 7 days. was worth the road trip.

What makes this a "Double Black Diamond"?
Looks like a basic glade run.
