I believe I own a 1934 GE monitor top. I know it's a GE, & I know it's a monitor top, I'm going by this sort of stamp on the inside of the door (took it apart & sort of of cleaned it up when I first got it) and it was a date I believe (hard to remember, need to take pics), but definitely 1934. Mine still runs but needs a good restoration. Pretty much 100% though, down to the foot release for the door.

I could be wrong but, I've seen some earlier ads for the flat top model, early as 1934!

We had a GE Monitor for years up until the l950's when self-defrost came in . - it's probably still working somewhere.

We have monitor top and the GE flat top that took it's place. They both work as good as the day they were made. It's all we use in our house.
