They take existing technologies perfect them and then find the best combination to achieve the best user experience. Tegra 2 is owned by Samsung Orion lineup and the Adreno 220. Heck even the SGX VR540 has higher benchmark scores ATM.

Actually, I do. loljk. But it's kinda stupid when people make statements like you did on Youtube. Most people who have iPads don't care too much about specs. Apple targeted the iPad to typical consumers, that benefit more to a friendly and easy to use interface. It wasn't targeted to people who are obsessed over specs and how powerful it is, since that's not all that matters. Plus the iPad does have a GPS, even if it is assistive. And with Skype, it can make phone calls.
