I bought my first 2003 VMax(actual first bike) a year ago. I was debating on Vrod or Vmax. The Vrod was 5000 more and ran like crap and even died on me while riding down the highway at 65 miles an hour. So I bought the Vmax and have loved it!! Plus the look on rocket riders face is priceless when you run off and leave them. I test drove the 2010 Vmax and it had no miles on it and I wouldn't take it out of 2nd because I wasn't use to the power and didn't have 20k to buy if I laided it down.
I remember back in '92-93 I was touring in Quebec, on my little Suzuki Intruder 750, by myself. I was on the side of the rode, sitting on the grass while reading a map. Some guy on a V-Max pulled over to offer me some help. I will never forget that guy's generosity, or that bike. Much respect to the V-Max and all V-Max owners. Do good, and you do your bike good. Hear that Harley-Davidson owners?! Peace.
lol you'll have to spend lots of money on the busa to get it in the 8's in the quarter mile. the vmax does it with a power comander and aftermarket exhaust.
dis my comment and ill send you the link to see for yourself.
the busa has been slain my friend....by a cruiser!!!!
Maybe its not the fastest, or the best looking, but I think its engine roar and the unexpected pulling at any rev makes it the most exciting bike, for me as well.
This bike can become a serious threat to worldwide peace and environment preservation by the time you get to buy a pair of the right exhaust cans..
All of the Yamaha ads were about straightline performance, and not one word has been said about corners. this video is an answer.. and what an answer..
a SMOKING BLACK RUBBER ANSWER RIGHT OUT OF THE BEND!

Honda just discontinued the vtx 1800. They will have an answer next year for this bike that will put the motorcycle world on its ear!!!!

Nice enough bike but the 18K price and performance restrictions = FAIL!!!
lbarrell121 3 years ago
Very easy to lose the restriction.
A pure beaty of a bike, the shaft drive gives excellent smoothness and response.
