Yeah, I think Daigo just knew that Sagat was gonna do "something" and that something just happened to be a tiger shot. So he did a sweep assuming that almost anything he would do next would lose to his sweep.

I'm sure he was just trying to sweep. At the range, its safe when blocked against SA cause he has nothing to punish with. He actually sweeps him twice while SA is throwing out a tiger shot, and the tiger shot doesn't come out. Once at 2:06 and the other at 2:13.

actually maybe your right, sweep is punishable by most ultras if blocked, but he was probably too far for sagat to punish with ultra so it was kinda a safe sweep cos of the distance. So it was a gamble with risk vs reward, low risk with reward.

Actually, Rufus is pretty easy to master. He has SOO many ways to link into his ultra, and his damage output/rushing game is just insane. Obviously anyone can link his ultra, its like saying no one can do a ultra period. Everyones not like you tho, we all learn at different periods of time. Also, seeing you insult someone else, you'd probably do the same when you see this message.

Pretty much every command move has startup frames, active frames, and recovery frames. It seems Daigo just swept before the tiger shot input went through and the sweep hit him before the tiger shot was able to come out.

It was probably a psychic sweep. Daigo is known for doing psychic stuff. In Super Turbo he does so many psychic uppercuts.

He probably figured out that the sweep could beat the tiger shot so he just did some random sweeps and they managed to interrupt the tiger shots.

I don't think its reaction/option select. It's probably just instinct/prediction. Players like Daigo can do that sometimes. They figure out your pattern/playstyle. They just kind of know what their opponent is gonna do next.

it's like gambling. you do it knowing you won't succeed 100%. for this case you know opponents might do something but daigo probably just went for the sweep just before sagat went for a move. i notice that when i rush down too. i try to mix up (sometimes even up to 3-5 times of grabs) opponents might block thinking it's shoryuken and i take that risk and try to grab. i dont know it's hard to explain but sf4 u can say luck plays its part

@roggy12345 All he has to do is watch the other characters play style, the sagat players threw a lot of tiger shots (what sagat player doesn't), no uppercuts and only one knee. Also once you get the rythym of the other player it becomes easy to throw out strikes to counter the other players moves. Daigo just has to put one and one together, what the other player is throwing and not throwing, and the other players timing.
