The original idea was for Phil to do a remake of Steely Dan's 'RICKY Don't Lose THAT number', but Phil wanted to change it a bit.

The whole 'How does it end?' pitch is a reference to the Mtv Contest. Before the video premiered, they showed a few clips from the video and asked people to call in votes on how the video should 'end'.

I was with a band back in the late 90's & we did a lot of cover songs. I was the only member who listened to Phil, & each song we played were songs all 4 of us could agree on. Strange enough, our drummer Jeff heard this song when we were playing basketball at my house one day with the radio on, & instantly he wanted us to do a cover of it with him on the drums.
