This movie looks cheap and boring. However, I've seen interviews of Jeffrey Dahmer's dad, and he really does seem like a very nice, caring man. From what he has said and from what Jeffrey himself has said, they raised him as well as any loving parents could've raised their children. Sometimes there's things out of your control.
I appreciate the fact that they show that Dahmer's parents weren't the cause of his actions. But this film look like shit. Watch Dahmer. Jeremy Renner and Bruce Davison are phenomenal.

However this movie concentrates on Lionel Dahmer's viewpoint rather than Jeff's, it's still better made than two earlier movies ("Dahmer" and "Secret life of Jeffrey Dahmer") in every aspect (photography, music, acting, scenes sequence etc.). I'm still waiting for the perfect movie on this subject though...

The movie had no order whatsoever. I understand he was recalling things that happened during his teen and later years but I still didn't like the sequence the movie went on. Also, it would have been far more interesting if the movie had talked about what Lionel learned after Jeff was arrested and convicted rather than seeing the perspective of why he thought Jeff did what he did. I would have liked the movie to show how Jeff acted after he was convicted, what he talked about with Lionel, etc.

Also, it would have been far more interesting if the movie had talked about what Lionel learned after Jeff was arrested and convicted rather than seeing the perspective of why he thought Jeff did what he did. I would have liked the movie to show how Jeff acted after he was convicted, what he talked about with Lionel, etc.

I agree with montoy... - I would like to know what could make someone become so mad in their mind to do such horrible things. Maybe just a sick mind, but there has to be some clues. I guess evidence from their background. Just give me something.

There is a movie about Dennis Nilsen called "Cold light of day", but it isn't an Oscar-winner... Also "Dead dreams of monochrome men" was based on Nilsen's twisted visions he some day expressed.

Did this movie ever come out? For so long, I thought this was coming out this year. What happened? Did they cancel it? If it was released on DVD or VHS in 2006, where is it? I tried searching Amazon but I didn't have any luck. What happened with this movie?

The film screened in theatres on a limited basis but was sold for direct to video and the releasing company sets the date. Thanks for asking.

i lived on da 2nd floor and dahmer on da 3rd floor,before the authorities blocked his apt off,tenants were able to peak inside,so my uncle and i walked in and on da bed were the exposed heads of victicms that the athorities set there,a few hours later they closed the area off completely..true story!

I'm sorry, but I want to ask kind of a rude question...
Will he be there when you do a dissection? And would that be strange?
I wondered about the fact that his dad was a chemist and a connection to the things Jeff did-like injecting skulls and so forth (Not that his dad was contributing).
But I agree his dad seems like a good person, and I saw the way he still loved his son - I was sad for him.

no he wont be there for dissection, and believe me questions have gotten ruder than that lol. We have had him for 2 months. Great guy and extremely smart. he actually isnt that great of a teacher, becuase he is so smart, its hard for him to talk to highschool students with vocabulary we understand lol. and no we're not some dumb innercity school

the secret life with carl crew was good and Dahmer with renner was decent.

I hope it includes his mother while she was pregnant with him. His fathers book describes how she would go into insane fits,as if posessed. This is where the story should start,he was born evil.She has been insane since and still is.
