hum.... ive been taught that the forearm is the best place to contact the ball in an overhand serve.. your fist can lead to an uncontrollable direction. so.. for the beginners out there... hit the volleyball with the section right under your wrist (make sure your forearm is facing upright and flat)

i serve with the top of my fist it helps me swing less i get 9 out of 10 in most of the time. and there is a couple of things that would awe so help im right handed so wen i go to swing i step out with my left foot then i all ways take a deap breathe because it helps me focus then just swing. and ont throw the ball up before you hit it because it could spinn off and go some where you dont want it to. and make sure wen you step you dont get a foot fault! i do that some times lol

Isn't the serve supposed to be super shallow and low just over the net or really deep so they think it's out and leave it?
