Its the most crowded b/c its the only East Side subway station....this is why MTA is trying to pushing to make the 2nd Avenue subway Line to relief the congestion of the Lexington Avenue Line!

but come on, anyone has to admit the nyc subway cars are horrible! they look disgusting, the london underground's cars look so much better. They also look cleaner

I like the new NYC cars better than the London cars, because they are bright and clean and look better. The older ones are bad, though.

I do. I think it's weird how in London there are multiple levels.

They built a super subway.

They wanted to modernize the system but couldn't use the old system and modernize it at the same time.

They also wanted to connect to areas that were not previously services.

Therefore they built a separate system on a different level as the original.

Not all the lines are on the same level though. You have some stations with multiple levels.

It's' just that the DC metro doesn't run 24/7 like the one in New York. I wish it did but DC has a great system.

I live in NYC. They are bringing in new trains from Japan. They will all be converted by next year! FINALLY! The A train doesn't have to be crap. The 4/5/6 lines are SO crowded, especially in Grand Central Station during Rush Hour. I like the subway system here, however, some trains are late, unlike Japan, where they are NEVER late.

They are late because people keep the doors open and push to get in(not allowing people get off) which delays the train from leaving the station.

Yeah. Big crouds = more train traffic. Taking the 5 Express going Uptown during Rush Hour is suicide. The train stops every minute because of "Train Traffic Ahead Of Us"

For 16 years my dad worked as a Transit Cop on those trains & in the stations. Mainly in the Brooklyn & Queens areas. He calls it "The Electric Sewer" and I'm sure many other people do as well. It's dirty, dark and it smells down there (as anyone who's been on the trains knows).

I will agree that the stations can be quite dirty, but the new trains they have (like the one pictured here) are very nice and clean.

All of the newer trains bought should of been bought from bombardier because of their good looks. The kawasaki ones are not as good looking. The nycta should of told them to build them the same way as the ones from bombardier.
