I can tell Rich Rod wanted to be at Michigan. He wanted to embrace the culture but he just didn't fit. Partially b/c some people wouldn't accept him and partially b/c he was too ignorant about the Michigan culture. He just didn't get it and when he started to understand it was too late

Rodriguez is a good guy and his family is the finest. He would have done better @ Michigan if "insiders" had given him the same support they gave previous coaches -- but nooo. In he end, it's better for Michigan and the Rodriguez's for him to be with Arizona. No problem. Now Hoke is the story @ Michigan - NO problem there either! Go Blue!

Good coach but he was the wrong fit for Michigan. After Lloyd Carr retired the search for a coach was handled poorly.

Rodriguez is a good coach in the right situation. He will have success in the future. Michigan was not the right place for him. I wish him well but I'm glad those days are over.

I'm sure he realizes he fucked up in that decision but at least he gets a chance to redeem himself which a very challenging but could be very rewarding project with Arizona. I don't know why but I see him doing quite well with Arizona and perhaps winning a PAC 12 title and once again bolting for a more prestigious job but who knows? His offenses were always a fun time, at least for an observer like me.

No doubt: RR is a nice man and did a lot of work to succeed throughout his career. Blessings on him and his family. Sad that his 3 years @ UofM were so tough and that the Rodriguez family didn't get to stay in Ann Arbor. It would have been great if he'd taken the team forward.
